Hey everyone, I thought it was finally time to share a bit of the history behind The Salmon School of Fish!!
My two oldest brothers Alex and Dante started The Salmon School of Fish back in 2014, and we were one of the first outdoor swim schools in Bradford. At the time, outdoor swim schools were being challenged, with the bylaw being interpreted as only allowing swimming lessons to operate in indoor pools.
Along with a few of the other original swim schools in Bradford, they went to council meetings and fought to have the bylaw changed. Because of their efforts, outdoor swim schools were able to continue operating in Bradford, allowing families like yours to enjoy outdoor swimming lessons to this day!
One of the coolest parts of this story is that some of the swimmers who come to us today actually swam with Alex and Dante when they were first learning how to swim.
And now, years later, they're back in the pool with me and Sadie!
After Alex and Dante eventually closed the swim school, I had the opportunity to reopen the Salmon School of Fish after a decade of closing.
Four years into reopening the Salmon School of Fish, it's so special to look back at where it started, see how much it has grown, and watch so many of the same and new families continue to be part of it. We're so grateful for every swimmer and family who has been a part of our story!!!!
We're so proud of where we came from, and even prouder to keep the tradition of outdoor swimming alive for the next generation.
