Last Sunday marked a special milestone for our community - the Grand Opening of the new GLS facility and the Vaughan location of GEMINOS DOJO.

It was an incredible day filled with energy, friendship, and a strong sense of unity. Families, students, instructors, athletes, performers, and guests came together to celebrate the opening of a unique space where martial arts, fitness, boxing, kickboxing, and performing arts can grow side by side.

We are proud to share this exciting occasion with GLS, whose vision brings together diverse disciplines under one roof, creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, develop, and connect.

A special thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event. Your enthusiasm and encouragement helped make the day truly memorable.

We would also like to recognize the instructors, coaches, students, parents, performers, and volunteers whose dedication and hard work continue to build strong programs and a welcoming community.

This Grand Opening is not simply the launch of a new facility - it is the beginning of a new chapter. Together, GLS and Geminos Dojo are creating a place where people can challenge themselves, discover their potential, build confidence, and form lasting friendships.

Congratulations to GLS and GEMINOS DOJO. We look forward to many years of growth, success, and community together.

🥋 New Belts & Rank Ceremony

OSU everyone!

Our New Belts and Rank Promotion Ceremony will take place this Wednesday in Bradford.

🕢 Ceremony starts at 7:30 PM

All regular classes will run according to the normal schedule. The ceremony will take place during the evening, so please stay after class (or arrive before 7:30 PM if you are receiving a new rank).

This is an important milestone that recognizes the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our students. We encourage all students and families to attend and help celebrate the achievements of our dojo members.

🥋 SUMMER TESTING 2026 – IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🥋

Osu Everyone,

Our Summer Testing is approaching.
Please read the information below carefully and make sure you are fully prepared.

📅 DAY 1 – FRIDAY
🕕 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Testing Components:
✅ Terminology Written Exam (Multiple Choice)
• 15 minutes
• Additional 5 minutes available if required
✅ Kumite Test
Please make sure you bring your complete fighting equipment:
o Gloves
o Shin guards
o Groin protection (males)
o Mouthguard
o Headgear

📅 DAY 2 – SATURDAY
🕛 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Testing Components:
✅ Physical Conditioning
✅ Terminology (Floor Examination)
✅ Kihon
✅ Kata

⚠️ REQUIREMENTS
✔️ Be on time!
• Friday: The written exam starts at 6:00 PM sharp.
• Saturday: Arrive before 12:00 PM to complete your own warm-up and preparation.
🚫 NO WARM-UP WILL BE PROVIDED.
The testing begins immediately at the scheduled start time.
✔️ Clean Dogi
✔️ Complete Fighting Gear (Friday only)
✔️ Water Bottle
✔️ Strong Kyokushin Spirit and Proper Attitude

Remember, a grading is not only a test of technique.
It is a test of preparation, discipline, knowledge, perseverance, and spirit.

🏆 GEMINOS DOJO AT THE KYOKUSHIN-KAN AMERICA OPEN INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 🇺🇸🥋

This weekend, the Geminos Dojo team proudly represented our Dojo at the Kyokushin-Kan America Open International Championship in St. Augustine, Florida.

Our team was represented by two competitors:
🥋 Senpai Oleg - Master Kata Division (18+)
This division was an extremely challenging and prestigious category. Senpai Oleg finished 9th place out of 14 competitors and, unfortunately, did not advance to the final round.
However, the result itself does not reflect the value of this experience.
The division included many highly respected and experienced karatekas - 4th, 5th, and 6th Dan instructors, Senseis and Shihans with an exceptionally high technical standard.

It was a true honor and incredible learning opportunity to stand on the same tatami and compete alongside such outstanding karate practitioners as:
• Shihan Nathan Ligo
• Shihan Igor Soloshenko
• Sensei Dmitry Prasolov
• Sensei Jacob Bensimon
• Shihan Yves Mathis
…and many other excellent competitors.

Sometimes participation itself becomes the victory - because growth starts where comfort ends.

🥇 Senpai Amelie - U16-18 Advanced Girls Kata Division
Senpai Amelie demonstrated outstanding performance and strong spirit throughout the tournament.
🔥 Round 1 - finished in 3rd place
🔥 Final Round - entered in 1st position 🏆 FINISHED AS THE CHAMPION - 1st PLACE!
Confident performance, excellent preparation, and strong ex*****on allowed her to secure the top position.

Special thanks to the organizers for hosting such a professional event.
The competition atmosphere reminded us very much of tournaments in Europe and Japan - excellent organization, strong competitors, and very high technical standards in both Kata and Kumite.
But most importantly for us personally - the tournament demonstrated proper structure, fair rules, and a respectful competitive environment for both Kata and Kumite.

This experience gave us valuable lessons, motivation, and inspiration.

We will definitely consider returning to this tournament in the future.
