We’d like to give credit to the North Bay Trappers for the inspiration behind this post. Their message sparked an important conversation that we felt was worth sharing with our Storm community.
As we head into tryouts, we want to remind everyone of a few important do’s and don’ts to help create a positive and respectful environment for all players, coaches, and families.
DO:
Encourage all players—effort, attitude, and sportsmanship matter.
Respect coaches, evaluators, and volunteers who are giving their time.
Arrive prepared and on time for all sessions.
Support your teammates and represent the Storm with pride.
DON’T:
Yell instructions from the stands or benches.
Engage in negative comments toward players, coaches, or officials.
Compare players or discuss evaluations publicly.
Forget that every player is doing their best in a high-pressure environment.
Tryouts can be an exciting but challenging time for everyone involved. Let’s work together to ensure it remains a positive experience focused on development, respect, and love of the game.
Thank you for your continued support.
