Take a good look at this man! What do you see? You'd be inclined to say that he looks like a normal, wholesome good guy, with a great family and loves his kids. You'd be correct from the visual, but here's what you don't see..
They rented two kayaks from me, and I had advertised that all first responders for the entire season will get 50% off anything we rent, as a thank you for being there for us during covid. I gave David a code to use when booking online. He made the booking but did NOT use the code. I thought the system may have crapped out, so I called to fix any problem and to refund the 50%
They told me they decided not to use the code, as they considered themselves lucky to even have a job. And they knew that many small businesses like mine were hurt quite badly during covid. They wanted to pitch in and help, and did not want to take advantage of the discount!
You see, David and his wife Brenda are a first responder family, and we all know that it takes a very special kind of person to put the lives of others before theirs. Please know that when a first responder goes into this profession, he/she first goes in with the intention of being of service to mankind first and foremost. And this couple showed love and compassion towards my small business, as I, along with my fellow small businesses were hurt by covid quite badly.
This fireman and his lovely wife teared me up, and please, next time you meet a first responder, show them respect, thank them for their service, and be kind, because they truly are beautiful people inside and out! Honorable people! Much respect for protecting us and next time allow me also to do some good. Come on by anytime....next ride's on me David and Brenda!
