Tips from your friendly fitness loving gal, who hates jogging - that actually might work!👋🤣
I am a tracker girl through and through. Recovery stats, heart rate, energy levels, my cycle etc. I love the data.
I lost my WHOOP in Costa Rica (RIP😭) and left my Apple Watch at the cottage…. So, no app, no clock, no heart rate monitor. Just me and the road and zero numbers to glance at.
And it was the best run I have had in ages. I actually got into the flow of it instead of counting down the seconds until I could stop.
➡️As fun as it is to optimize and track and chase a number, sometimes just moving for the sake of moving is the single best thing you can do for your body and mind. No distractions. No stats. Just movement.
If you hate steady state running because it bores you endlessly (🙋♀️), try ditch the trackers, it may actually help!
2nd tip, totally random but it worked. ➡️If you are the type to blast out of the gate way too fast and then die halfway through (hi, it me), try this. Every time I felt myself speeding up because I was bored and impatient (and inevitably getting winded), I fully stopped and jogged on the spot until my body chilled back out to an easier pace.
Is it a real technique? Absolutely not. Did I look completely unhinged to every car driving past? Yes. Did it work every single time? Also yes. 🤣
Okay— that’s all from me today! Happy Friday fam
