UPDATE
I chased Jerry back up the trail, scaring the poor little dude away from the road. So he is no longer trying to cross the ferry Marshall lane!
“Jerry” in the cove by the totem pole… Waiting for the 730 ferry and he wants to cross the road. Tried calling the mobile number 604-314-1200 and no one is answering… Anyone know this cat? It’s not gonna make it crossing the road.

Another section of the UK coast explored and I’m remembering all the things that keep bringing me back. Every day is like a treasure hunt with route/destination mapped out in one hand, packed lunch and water on our backs along with weather ready gear and out we go not knowing anything else. Every corner in the trail is a treat. Every hill delivers its sweaty reward of a hill top view that is literally breathtaking. Our pasties are so much more delicious devoured on a grassy knoll or peaceful beach after all the quad burning climbs. I’m heading home brilliantly spent and excited to embrace my family after 3 weeks away exploring. Dear Cornwall and Devon - thank you for hosting us. We loved every minute.

I’m remembering now all the little big things on these coastal adventures that accumulate, wrap around my heart and soul and bring me back so I can share it with like minded walkers. It’s the ever changing and oh so dramatic sky scapes. The cliffs and sea that have a way of coaxing you along the path so you can see around the next corner. It’s the trail tunnels, the dry stacked stone walls and the impossibly quaint fishing villages. And the way the long daily walks slough away all the rough bits in life. Off our shoulders and into the sea.

Cornwall 2024 Walking Tour is revealing all the best things in life…a group of gals soaking up stunning scenery and getting a whole bunch of exercise surrounded by gorgeous ancientness.
And if this isn’t enough, this is where dogs can sit with (ah, ok, actually next to) their people while they dine.
These tours have been a slow build since 2016 when I first discovered the pure joy of a UK walking holiday. Positively Fit’s biggest tour to date, I am lucky enough to share the leadership this year with my ever fabulous associate trainer Joanna Quarry - thanks for making this experience even better Jo! Tally Ho!

I wish you were still here Dad so I could tell you about SwimBowen and all the beautiful things unfurling from this little idea from all those years ago. I wish you could have seen the joy on the beach that morning and how it magically erased - if only for a moment - any heart aches or worries weighing on us. And how it brought out the best in all of us, the strongest swimmers flying through the water like dolphin acrobats, and the slower among us determinedly pulling through the rough water keeping in our hearts loved ones lost or those with us going through the real hard work of cancer treatment. I wish you could have felt the waves with me as I climbed up and over the rolling sea with hundreds of white jelly floating silently beneath me like aquatic stars. And how I steadied my mind through the rhythmic pattern of turn, inhale, reach, roll, exhale. And how I tried to run at the finish line. And how I fell spectacularly, my legs collapsing under me as if I had no legs at all.
Mostly I wish I could tell you how SwimBowen lights people up for all the best reasons, touching on all the ways we can be strong. Strong in our bodies, strong in ourselves and strong for others. It's a big beautiful wave Dad picking us up and floating us forward.

The best kind of strength training program includes what we do throughout our day. Not just in the gym💚

Along with a strength training regime, tips recently given to a new gym member and client wanting to change their life:

- ditch the scales (daily weigh ins are not supporting you)
- Think about your Glycemic Index and work towards more even blood sugar levels throughout the day (smaller meals more often)
- Be aware of how you are moving through the world - and try and move with intention, and think "strong"
- Meal planning: include this in the "project" of wellness for you.
- Look ahead in your day and pinpoint your danger times (eating for eating sake) and be prepared with a plan in advance with a healthy snack, meet with a friend, big mug of herb tea etc.
- Buy yourself a beautiful journal - and journal your health and wellness project. Nothing else. No one else.
- Plan to get yourself a lovely treat in 30 days when you have worked your new project through for a solid month.
