Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all having a great spring, despite the unpredictable weather!

Extra Mile Equestrian Centre is excited to be hosting a four day Foundation Horsemanship clinic with Fawn Anderson June 10-13, 2016. This clinic is geared towards Natural Horsemanship students interested in learning more about the Vaquero style of horse development which is based on operating a horse off a 'feel'.

For those of you who don't know Fawn, she started to study this style of horsemanship in 2002 and has been riding in clinics with Buck Brannaman since 2005. Although strongly influenced by her time with Buck, Fawn brings her own flavour to her clinics, as well as a much smaller class size which allows for plenty of hands on coaching and feedback.

Feel, timing, flexion, softness, 'life', and quality of movement will be some of the topics covered. Half of the clinic focuses on groundwork to get your horse connected and teach you to time up with the feet, and the other half is ridden.

Because Fawn has studied around the world with internationally acclaimed horsemen such as: Buck Branaman, Pat Parelli, Philippe Karl, Karen Rohlf, Walter Zettl, Silke Vallentin, Michael Wanzenreid, Larry Stewart, Steve Byrne, Ronnie Willis & Aimee Brimhall,– she has been able to study all three areas of Classical, Natural & Vaquero Horsemanship and how they work together for the good of the horse. It is her unique ability to bridge the gap between these worlds that is sought after.
