Save the date for The Pole & Spur in Crowsnest Pass on Saturday, March 7th, 2026!!!

We're putting a call-out for all snow dances over the next couple of months and making plans to host another fun event of rednecks, horses, and ski bums. Stay tuned as more details roll out over the next few weeks.

While we're not a go this weekend (still so sad, but as anticipated there's no snow still), we do want to throw a huge thanks to a few groups that supported our efforts to attempt a skijoring this year:

- Municipality of Crowsnest Pass - thanks for starting to haul all that snow for us! We tried our hardest 😄
- CrowSnow Riders - for the groomer
- Public Image Co - for the beautiful highway sign
- The Greenhill - for the awesome band they have booked on Saturday night - this is not cancelled so get your butts down to the Greenhill for some great live music on Saturday!!!

These events take a ton of coordination so it's even more disappointing when it doesn't work out. Thanks for all the support!

Ugh. This is the saddest post we’ve had to do - the +15 temps killed our snow base on the weekend and today’s forecasted snow amounted to a bunch of melted sleet with nothing white on the ground.

The crew started hauling snow in today until the mud built up too much and Joe estimates we’d need another ~50 loads of snow to make a half decent course. With Environment Canada calling for +14 on the weekend again - we’re going to have to call it. There’s no way we can put together a course that will be safe for our skiers and horses.

The 2025 Pole & Spur will be cancelled (first time ever 😭). Refunds will go out to all of our registered contestants over the next week.

Thanks for all the support and excitement for our event - watch for us in 2026 and don’t forget our other amazing event, Kananaskis Pro Rodeo on May 2-4, 2025.

We're so excited for the Pole & Spur on Saturday, March 8 - bringing the ultimate mashup of rednecks, horses and ski bums back to Crowsnest Pass for our 8th year 😄

All the action starts at 12 PM - catch your shuttle ride from the Greenhill Hotel, join us for some fast and wild skijoring action, beer gardens, food trucks, 50/50 and more.

* New this Year *: Enter up to be the first Snow Queen of the CNP - all styles and genders are encouraged to strut their stuff at Intermission for a chance to win the crown.

Don't forget we are on a site with no services - bring your cash (no ATM's or electronic services - we're entirely old school. And while we're a family event, no pets are allowed (please leave your dogs at home for this one).

And to round out a great day The Greenhill Hotel has an amazing live band booked for Saturday night!!!

It's not going to be as snowy white, but with cooler temperatures forecasted for next week - WE'RE GOING SKIJORING!!!!

Joe has declared that we'll be able to make a course of it (the crew is going to be hard at work hauling some snow in next week) but we're going to make it work.

Get those horses legged up this weekend - we're ready for some wily fast action next weekend at the Pole & Spur. If you haven't registered yet, don't hesitate to get in there for some great prizes and cash money. 😎

We're putting a pause on registration for right now, as this week's weather is not looking good for skijoring in two weeks 😭

We'll keep you all posted, but this is a great time to pull out your best snow dances (as nice as the sunshine is, we're going to need way less than +10 temps so our snow stops melting away).

👑 Snow Queen of the CNP 2025 👑

Dig out those trunks, hit up grandma's closet, sift through them thrift shops and show us what it means to be the Snow Queen of CNP. Calling all styles and genders, work it during halftime for bragging rights and the crown!

Criteria will be judged on: originality, redneck factor, outdoors/mountain appeal, skier, western vibes, etc. Bonus points will be awarded for acts/entertainment during your chance to strut your stuff.

We can't wait to see how creative you all will be - contest is open to all participants and spectators!!!

The weather is looking great for this year's annual Pole & Spur, Crowsnest Skijoring on Saturday, March 8th, 2025!

We'll have our usual fun of beer gardens, 50/50, food trucks, DJ, rodeo announcer, cowboy curling, and of course the fast & furious skijoring action - but this year we're adding a "Snow Queen of the CNP" contest.

That's right, we're going to crown a 👑Snow Queen👑at this year's skijoring and the crowd is invited to compete and participate. We'll release details on this soon!

Stay tuned for registration after this weekend's skijor events (Fernie & Calgary if you're jonesing for some skijor action!).
