Thank you to the Birtle Value Shoppe and Birtle Lions Club for their donations to new equipment. With the donations we purchased 2 Bowflex Treadmills, an Ironax XCS Leverage Squat and Calf Station, and a Heavy Bag and speed bag station. Thank you as well to Nancy Harrar for the donation of the 115lbs heavy bag.

Thank you to Birtle Lions Club for the generous donation of $5000. As well, thank you to Birtle Value Shoppe for $1000 donation to this equipment purchase. This donation will be used to purchase a new Matrix Lifestyle Climbmill.
The gym has so many new pieces of equipment to help you reach your fitness goals. Come by Birtle Pharmacy to purchase a gym membership today.

Birtle Lions Club was pleased to present the Birdtail Fitness Co-op with a donation of $5,000 for equipment purchases. Starting Friday September 3 the Manitoba government is allowing only double vaccinated people to use fitness centres. That includes the Birdtail Fitness Co-op. That means you must be at least 2 weeks since your second vaccine. You will not have to wear a mask when you work out. In order to comply with this rule all current members will need to bring their proof of vaccination (QR code or Manitoba vaccination card) to the Birtle Pharmacy cashier area. After that you will be given a new code for the lock. The current code will not work starting Friday. No drop ins are allowed during this time. You must be a current vaccinated member to use the gym. Pharmacy hours are 9 to 530 Monday to Saturday. If you are not fully vaccinated yet there is plenty of vaccine at the Birtle Pharmacy. You can book an appointment by calling 2048425333

Today, July 17 the gym can have up to 8 people at once. Masks are still required and 3 meter distancing. Please continue to sign in and clean up your weights etc… Thank you and enjoy your fitness centre.

Thank you to Prairie View Municipality for the grant of $5000 to our not for profit fitness co-op. Below is some information on the grant.

The Federal Safe Restart Funding provided to Manitoba municipalities on a per capita basis has allocated operating funding to Prairie View Municipality in the amount of $125,008.08. The funds are intended to offset municipal operating costs incurred as a result of the pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted non-profit organizations and some are struggling to survive. Some have realized lost revenue through cancelled programs and fund-raising events because of physical distancing requirements, while others are simply not able to operate. Many have incurred additional costs in complying with COVID-19 requirements.

It is Council’s intention to support these organizations by distributing a portion of the available funding through a grant funding opportunity. Financial contributions will also be made to the local Christmas Cheer Boards and Food Banks.
