BQYC Sailing School The Bay of Quinte Yacht Club offers Sailing School to the public every year for kids, adults and fam

Sailing is a healthy outdoor activity that’s fun for the whole family. Here on the Bay of Quinte we are fortunate to have one of the best places to sail anywhere in the world. Experience the thrill of sailing this summer and enjoy it for the rest of your life. BQYC provides many different Sail Training Opportunities for youth, adults, and families.

Our CANSail 1/2 sailors had an amazing session! From building confidence on the water to mastering brand new skills, they rose to every challenge. They even handled lots of exciting high-wind sailing! 💨 We’re so proud of how much progress each sailor made in just two weeks. Keep up the great work. We can’t wait to see where your sailing journey takes you next! ⛵️⚓️

Smoke-filled skies made it tough to get on the water this week, but our CANSail 3/4 sailors made every sailing day count! 🌬️⛵
The three days we did get out were packed with heavy winds, and our sailors did an incredible job putting their heavy wind management skills to the test. They rose to the challenge with confidence, resilience, and determination, and we’re so proud of how much they’ve grown.
Congratulations to everyone who earned their next CANSail level this week, and a huge shoutout to those who made great progress toward their goals. Keep up the awesome work! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next! 🌊👏💙

The final week of Session 1 threw everything at us—from strong winds to smoky skies, but our CANSail 1/2 sailors didn’t let that stop them! 🌬️⛵ Despite the challenging conditions, they embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and have an unforgettable week on the water. Their resilience, teamwork, and smiles made the best of every day, and we couldn’t be prouder. Here’s to an amazing end to Session 1! 💙☀️

Wind, waves, and lots of laughs! 🌊⛵ Our CANSail 3/4 crew made the most of every breeze this week while building new skills and growing their confidence on the water. When the summer heat rolled in, we cooled off with some capsizing practice and a swim! ☀️💦

Sun, smiles, and so much sailing! ☀️⛵ This week, our CANSail 1/2 sailors had an incredible time on the water. Meet Cooper! ⛵️👋
Cooper jumped into sailing in 2019 at just 9 years old, and he’s been loving it ever since! This is his first year instructing and he will be with CANSail 1/2. His favourite boats are the C420 and Hobie Cat.
Off the dock, Cooper is known for keeping things entertaining—he’s super funny and always brings good energy to the team 😂⚓
And when he’s not sailing? You’ll probably find him enjoying all things Disney ✨🏰

Anna has been on the water since she was just 5 years old, and she’s been hooked ever since! Her favourite boat to sail is the Laser 4.7—perfect for fast, exciting racing on the water!

Jack has been sailing since he was just 9 years old and has loved being on the water ever since! His go-to boat is the ILCA (Laser)
When he’s not out on the water, you’ll probably find him wakeboarding in the summer on the bay or snowboarding at Batawa in the winter! 🏄‍♂️🏂
