For years, exercise has been portrayed, by diet culture and diet culture ambassadors, as the means to burning off the calories, getting you toned or ripped or shredded or trimmed or a means to burning fat. . . .
For years, exercise has been the punishing activity we would do to make things "right" with our body.
Itโs what we go to when we want to change our appearance.
And guess what?
This rarely turns out well.

In fact, Iโve seen and personally experienced it play some pretty damaging effects on womenโs mental health when they use exercise for these very reasons mentioned above.

Thereโs no switch to flip to turn it all around. Thereโs no easy here. It takes effort and the true desire to look at things differently.

It takes time to be aware of the diet culture that lives with and around you, then it takes time to unlearn it and then it takes more time to learn more supportive ways to live with exercise.

It takes surrounding yourself with a different viewpoint, feeding a different mindset and working with coaches that can help you get there. Going at it alone can be bewildering, confusing and overwhelming and can leave you feeling frustrated.
