Hi, my name is Boomer,

Male - neutered
Carolina dog mix
Approx. 1 year, 6 months old

I'm a friendly and easily excitable pup with a big heart and plenty of energy. While I'm not overly interested in toys, treats and yummy food are definitely my motivators. Because I'm such a treat lover, I respond well to training when there's food involved, though I can sometimes get overstimulated and need help focusing.

My leash skills could use some fine-tuning, as I have a tendency to get very excited and jumpy. I would benefit from an experienced handler or someone dedicated to teaching me the right ways. With a little patience and some tasty rewards, I'm confident I can learn and grow.

Aside from treats, people are my absolute favourite! I do show signs of separation anxiety, but with consistency and a loving home, I'm sure to thrive. When it comes to body handling and restraints, I'm friendly and excitable, always ready for a little attention and affection.

As for furry friends, I've shown the potential to socialize successfully with doggy pals, though remember that a slow introduction is key to making new friends. When it comes to cats, I do have a bit of a prey drive, so I would thrive best in a home without feline companions.
