Heads up BSRC patrons! Here are a few construction and maintenance updates that may affect your visit this week.

The new cenotaph will be delivered and installed at the BSRC this week and the roundabout will be temporarily closed during installation. Also, snow and ice guards are also being installed on the roof, with the parking stalls and sidewalk along the north side of the building temporarily closed while work is underway.

Mapping out your week? Here's what's happening around Beaumont this week for construction and maintenance activities and updates:

💧50 Avenue water feedline project:
• Crews continue to use directional drilling to install the water feedline underneath the 50 Ave and 50 St intersection, with no additional traffic impacts expected at this intersection.
• There continues to be one-way alternating traffic with flaggers between 55 Street and École Bellevue School.
• The two eastbound lanes on 50 Ave east of 50 St will be closed this week, but two-way traffic is maintained.

🎖️The new cenotaph will be delivered and installed at the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) this week. The roundabout will be closed when it is being installed.

❄️🧊 Snow and ice guards are being installed on the roof at the BSRC this week. The parking stalls and sidewalk next to the north side of the building will be temporarily closed while the work is happening.

🛝Nature Park is closed for playground renewal work.

Temporary closure: BSRC Fieldhouse turf

The fieldhouse turf at the BSRC will be temporarily closed September 16–18 while emergent, unplanned work is completed.

The turf is expected to reopen September 19.

If you have a rental, course or other scheduled activity that is impacted by the closure, BSRC will contact you directly and work with you on alternative arrangements as needed.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this work is completed. Thank you for helping us keep our facilities safe, functional and ready for the community to enjoy.

💧 Reminder 💧 Beginning tomorrow (September 10), the entire BSRC Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance.

There will be no public access to:
💙 Main Pool
💙 Leisure Pool
💙 Whirlpool
💙 Dry Sauna
💙 Steam Sauna
💙 Pool deck
💙 Aquatic viewing area and hallways
💙 Aquatic changerooms

🏊 Need a place to swim? Your BSRC membership provides access to the Leduc Recreation Centre beginning September 10.

Child Minding at BSRC: New Hours Starting September 1!

Summer hours are coming to an end, and regular hours are returning to BSRC Child Mind. Check out the new hours on the creative and plan your next visit with us!

Parent’s Night Out gives children ages 3–9 three hours of fun, games, activities, laughter, a snack and a craft option while you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself.

🚧🚗 Temporary parking stall and sidewalk closures at BSRC 🚶‍➡️

** Update as of August 27: this work will need to be postponed. We will notify BSRC users about when the stalls and sidewalk will be closed. **

The parking stalls and sidewalk directly next to the north side of the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre (BSRC) will be temporarily closed for approximately one week to install permanent snow and ice guards on the roof ahead of the winter season.

Did you know? 💧 Leduc Recreation Centre is available for BSRC members as a FREE swimming option, during the BSRC Aquatic Centre annual maintenance shutdown.

From Sept. 10 – Oct. 1, 2026, the BSRC Aquatic Centre will be temporarily closed so important maintenance and upgrades can be completed.

Drop-in schedules for the BSRC and KNRRC are moving from printed schedules to an online format. Use the online schedule to find current times for:

Waterslide Closure💦 Please note the waterslide is currently closed until further notice due to emergent maintenance. The closure was implemented immediately as a precaution.

A contractor has been contacted and will attend site to assess the issue and complete repairs, but timelines are not yet confirmed.
