Learning how to do a proper core activation is important for spinal health and safe, functional movement. It is the foundation of everything we do in the Core Class and is a foundational element of Pilates.

Learning how to combine the muscles in a coordinated, isolated way is challenging if you've never done it. Give your body time to re-establish the neuromuscular connection between the mind and these muscle groups with consistent, regular practice.

Have you recently had a little one and not sure where to start to help the body heal and safely return to exercise? This is the series for you!

Offering this series beginning Monday June 15th from 1:30-3:00 for 8 weeks, cost of $240, with the possibility of a virtual option!

This series will be a unique therapeutic program offered by Meghan (Physiotherapist) with the goal of helping new Moms (or new-again Moms) gradually and safely return to exercise post-delivery. *And, as this is a PT-guided series, you may be able to claim this through your physiotherapy coverage if it is available to you.

Any Mom can join, but only babies less than 6 months (or non-mobile infants) can be brought along as the studio isn't child-proofed. This is an opportunity to strengthen, connect, and learn a little about common topics or issues women face after delivery as we will provide short education pieces during the classes.

Topics will include:

- common issues and implications post-delivery

- hormonal changes and considerations post-delivery

- pelvic floor and core function

- diastasis recti

- exercise guidelines

And others....

There will also be time at the end of the sessions to ask any physiotherapy-related questions you might have about yourself, your recovery, or your little one!

We are coming up on our two-year anniversary! Where has the time gone? It's certainly been a learning curve, an adventure, and ultimately a blessing to have found this space and created this community!

A few examples of my yoga x stability experimental moves. In order of increasing difficulty: crow, plank to low lunge, and side plank (which took several attempts).

You can always add more dynamic elements and stability challenges to your workouts with a few simple pieces of equipment. I'm pretty sure side plank engaged every muscle in my body....

Throw in a challenge or new goal every now and then... It's how we make gains physically and mentally!
