The gym looks scary when you’ve never been there before.
Not because of the weights.
Not because of the workouts.

But because it feels like everyone already knows what they’re doing except you.

I promise you, most people in the gym are too focused on themselves to judge you.

The strongest people in the gym?
They were beginners once too.

They also had their “I hope nobody watches me” phase.

Their “I have no idea what this machine does” phase.

Their “I almost turned around and left” phase.

The gym stopped feeling scary when I realized:

You don’t need to belong there before you start.

You start… and then you slowly realize you belonged there the whole time.

You do not need to be fit to enter the gym.

The gym is the place you learn how to become strong.

And honestly?
The hardest part is usually just walking through the front door the first time

Everyone loves the after photo.

The smaller body.
The muscles.
The confidence.
The accomplishments.

But nobody talks enough about the woman in the before photo.

The one who walked into the gym uncomfortable.
The one who didn’t believe in herself yet.
The one who kept showing up despite feeling embarrassed, insecure, or overwhelmed.

That girl didn’t know she’d become a coach after university.
She didn’t know she’d compete in hyrox.
She didn’t know she’d help other people change their lives.

She just took the next step.

So no, I’m not looking at this video and feeling embarrassed.

I’m grateful.

Because she is the reason I’m here.

And if you’re at the beginning of your journey right now, don’t spend so much time chasing the “after” that you forget to appreciate the person doing the work today.

Girls need sports.

Not because they’ll all become professional athletes.

But because sports teach girls things the world often doesn’t.

How to be brave when you’re scared.
How to fail and try again.
How to take up space.
How to trust their bodies.
How to lead.
How to be resilient.
How to believe they are capable of hard things.

Too many girls grow up thinking their value comes from being perfect.

Sport teaches them their value comes from what they can do, who they are, and how they show up.

Every girl deserves the chance to discover just how strong she really is.

Ask yourself—

Is that true?

Or is that the story that protects you from discomfort?

Because the hardest part of growth usually isn’t the workout.

It’s admitting that something needs to change.

Confidence doesn’t come from:
– watching workouts
– saving programs
– waiting until you “feel ready”

It comes from:

→ learning the basics
→ getting stronger week by week

Not gonna lie… this one means a lot.
To PB my HYROX time while navigating months of struggling with my stress, under fuelling, and trying to hold everything together behind the scenes… I’m really proud of myself.

There were moments these last couple months where training felt heavy mentally more than physically. But I kept showing up anyway. Not perfectly. Not always confidently. But consistently.

And somewhere through all of this, I’ve started seeing myself in an entirely different light. Not just as an athlete, but as a person.
Honestly, I don’t even feel like I’m “pushing through it” anymore. I feel like I’m moving through it. Learning through it. Growing through it.

1:27 wasn’t just a race result for me. It was proof that even in hard seasons, your body and mind are still capable of incredible things. 🤍

Now time to rest, reset and get ready for Hyrox Toronto (doubles pro)
