Why do you train or exercise? There should always be a reason for what you place as a priority in your life. If you have training or exercise as a top priority, what is the reason you make time each week to train or exercise? Often times the reason or focus changes its order of importance. For me currently, it’s (1, 3, 4, 2 ). Rank your four in comments💪

We are 1 month out from my first Triathlon! I’m feeling good, the training has been progressive and the body is adapting to harder and hotter sessions. Still trying to balance my energy levels around the fatigue of some busy 24hr shifts and get the sessions in that I’ve scheduled. Looking forward to what progress and training adaptations the next 4 weeks holds!

Time for a new Challenge! Stepping out of my comfort zone with a new challenge this summer. Training is underway for my first Triathlon! I have no competitive swimming background and I’ve never owned a road bike. My last running races were in 2013. Since then, my focus was on two Bodybuilding competitions (2014 & 2016), 2 Powerlifting meets (2017), Paddleboarding Technical, Sprint and Endurance distance races (2017-2022), and training as a Tactical Athlete to attain and maintain my full time position as a Firefighter (2015-Present). Sprinkled throughout the past 10 years I’ve also played rec league Soccer, Slo Pitch, Hockey and Mtn Biking. All in all I love keeping busy with sports and activities, but nothing is more fulfilling then setting a new goal or challenge and accomplishing it.
After coming off a 3 winter month Microcycle of Strength and Hypertrophy, I’m looking forward to making some progress training the 3 disciplines (750m Swim- 20km Bike- 5km Run) and will keep you posted with my training along the way! Don’t be afraid to change your training! 😎

Swimming has always been an activity I’ve enjoyed doing leisurely but never really for training or competition. I’ve been embracing the challenge of doing something different and adding some swim sessions into my training during my time here in Florida. The place conveniently has a 25m lap pool. So during this “Microcycle” of training building my aerobic base, I’m getting in the pool to challenge my cardiovascular system a little differently than my 5-10km runs. The runs and swims are both proving to be tough sessions after coming out of a heavy strength phase of training.
This training will help me work towards my goal of completing my first Triathlon later this year. 🏊‍♂️ 🚴 🏃‍♂️
