Why do so many people struggle to stay consistent with fitness?

The average person burns out or gets bored within weeks.

People who trained hard in their twenties often stop training altogether in their forties and fifties.

I don't think that's a discipline problem.

I think it's a philosophy problem.

Too often, fitness is framed around a specific goal, season, or event.

Lose weight.
Build muscle.
Run a race.
Get ready for summer.

But life lasts decades.

Those seasons end.

And that's where specialization often fails us.

The bodybuilder who looks fit but isn't capable.

The person who can lift enormous weight but gets out of breath walking up a flight of stairs.

The runner with incredible endurance but little strength.

Real fitness isn't about specializing.

It's about building strength, conditioning, and mobility together.

It's about creating a body that serves you not just for a season, but for life.

Real fitness makes you a more capable human being.

Today.

Tomorrow.

And decades from now.

1,250 classes.

That's D.C.'s number — and that's only since we started counting. He and his wife Amanda have been members since we opened the doors back in 2012. So realistically? It's a lot more than 1,250.

Something most wouldn't know about David: he was never a gym guy. a gamer/computer nerd, proud of it, sports and working out just weren't his thing. He used to babysit our son back when this was all still new. Fourteen years later, he and Amanda aren't just members anymore. They're family.

And somewhere along the way, without trying to become "that guy," David became one of the strongest, most consistent people in this place. More athletic. More confident. Built differently than the version of himself that walked in the door over a decade ago.

But the real shift isn't physical. It's that fitness stopped being something David had to do. When life gets busy and he can't make it in as much as he wants, he's genuinely bummed about it. That's what happens when training is fun and you're surrounded by the right people, it stops being a chore and becomes something you look forward to.

1,250 classes. 14 years. One of the best examples of what consistency actually looks like.

4 weeks in.

This is Dayna's first class photo — and the difference between then and now ia already showing up in her conditioning.

When we talked before she decided to join, she told me she loves to snowboard a lot, and last season, she noticed she didn't have the stamina for long days on the mountain that she was used to.

Back in week one, 200m was a struggle. Fast forward almost 4 weeks now, and she's running it multiple times in a single workout, no problem. That's the kind of conditioning that's going to help here crush those full days on the slopes next season.

And she's only getting started.

Kira and Angele both hit that number this week — 75 days of choosing to show up instead of searching for a shortcut.

If fitness had a secret, it would be consistency over time. No hacks, no quick fixes — just putting in the work, day after day. And 75 classes later, the results speak for themselves: more strength, more endurance, better mobility, more energy, and the kind of confidence that only comes from doing the hard thing over and over.

And today, Nicole hit a goal she set for the end of the year — her first unassisted chin-up. In June.

Most women can't do a single one. It takes real upper body and grip strength that most programs never build. Nicole got there with a little extra work before and after class, and the kind of consistency that shows up on a board like this.

This is the stuff that makes coaching worth it. Proud of you, Nicole.

Love them or hate them partner workouts are a great way to hide high intensity interval training they’re also a lot of fun and in the bigger classes the vibe is just really cool. That’s why every Saturday we do partner or team workouts!
