From coast to coast, one pedal stroke at a time! 🇨🇦🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Meet Victoria Schedel (58) and Keith Stewart (70), an inspiring couple who rode into Bikeland all the way from Victoria, BC. They’ve already cycled an incredible 4,700 km across Canada, with another 3,000 km still to go!

Victoria, who retired just 11 months ago, calls this epic ride her retirement gift to herself. Her favourite part of the journey? Meeting fellow cyclists along the way; some carrying heavy loads, others travelling light, but all sharing the same love for the ride.

We were honoured to tune into their story and cheer them on. Wishing them tailwinds, smooth roads, and unforgettable memories as they complete this beautiful Canadian adventure.

But what truly makes you one of a kind isn’t just your mechanical expertise, also it’s the way you lead. You’re one of the best bosses anyone could ask for. Whether you’re solving a tricky repair, sharing one of your legendary one-liners, or keeping everyone smiling through a busy day, you make Bikeland a place people genuinely enjoy being.

Bike Inspired by an artist?
We got a Kent Margaritaville in for service, and it looked really interesting. Upon research we found that Kent Margaritaville bike is directly inspired by “tropical philosophy of singer-songwriter” Jimmy Buffett. Produced by Kent International, these cruiser bikes are part of a licensed line that includes themes from “Margaritaville,” “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere”. The bike usually comes with cool accessories like pineapple cup holder and frame mounted bottle opener.

65 candles wouldn’t be enough to show how much light Jim brings to Bikeland.

For nearly two decades, you’ve kept the wheels turning, the spirits lifted, and the Tim Hortons orders perfectly organized like the true legend you are. If kindness were a bike part, you’d be the frame: steady, strong, and holding us all together. Welcome to “The Bike Museum” at Bikeland. We love seeing a spark of nostalgia; “Oh My God! I used to ride that” or “My parents had one of those!” when customers spot our vintage Bike Collection. Take a look at a few of our most-loved featured pieces:

1. 1934 Dawes Tandem: The 1930s saw a rise in the popularity of tandems for weekend trips. The bike features drum brakes and an internal gear hub (often 3-speed or higher) combined with external chainrings (a “2 by”) offering low maintenance wide range gearing solutions for two riders.

2. The Buddy Bike: Originating in England and reaching the height of its popularity in the late 1960s, the Buddy Bike is a unique side-by-side experience. Often called the “sociable” bike, it was famously used by young men to court their romantic interests.

*Fun Fact: Some of our customers have rented The Buddy Bike to add a touch of vintage romance to their wedding photoshoots! *

3. Raleigh Winkie: The Winkie was a classic children’s tricycle manufactured in England 1950 and 1970. It features a rod brake which is a vintage braking system utilizing metal rods and linkages instead of cables to operate a stirrup mechanism that presses rubber pads against the inside of the rim.

4. Norco Banana Seat Bike: Inspired by the “chopper” motorcycle craze of the 1960s and 70s, the banana seat bike was the ultimate status symbol for kids of the era. With its iconic long seat and high-rise sissy bars, this Norco model reflects the heavy influence of the legendary Schwinn Sting-Ray and its Canadian counterpart, the CCM Mustang.

The lalest crew just wrapped the Bike Maintenance Course at Bikeland, pedaling away with hands-on skills that make every ride smoother and every fix faster. Now’every turn of the crank, every click of the gears, every squeeze of the brake radiates the confidence of our riders who understand their bikes inside and out.
