It’s impossible to be bored when you have goals to make progress on, business ideas to execute, a body to take care of, a mind to keep sharp, and a home to fill with love. Keep going.

It’s really easy to decide what we’re capable of before we’ve even given ourselves a chance to find out. 💭

Looking back at some of these older videos is kind of funny because when I first became a trainer, I really had no idea where it was going to take me. More than 10 years later, I’ve built my own business, worked with hundreds of people, taught, created, learned a ridiculous amount and done things I definitely wouldn’t have pictured for myself back then. 💪 And there have been plenty of moments along the way when I questioned whether I was capable of the next thing.

I see the same thing happen in fitness all the time. “I’m too old for that.” “I’m not strong enough.” “I could never lift that.” “I’ve never been athletic.” Sometimes the biggest thing holding us back isn’t our ability, it’s that we’ve already decided what we can and can’t do.

✨ So the next time you catch yourself saying “I can’t do that,” try changing the question: What would I need to work on to be able to do that? Maybe you need more strength, better mobility, an easier starting point or simply more time to practice. That gives you somewhere to go instead of taking yourself out of the game before you’ve even started.

You don’t need to know exactly where something will lead. Sometimes you just have to give yourself the chance to find out. ❤️

What’s something you’ve been telling yourself you “can’t” do? 👇

A little business update ❤️

After a lot of thought and some recent changes to my schedule, I’ve decided that I won’t be taking on any new personal training clients for the foreseeable future.

After more than 10 years in personal training, I’m at a point where I want to create a little more space for other opportunities while continuing to give my existing clients the time and energy they deserve.

I’m incredibly grateful that I still receive so many inquiries and referrals, and I don’t take that support for granted. If you’re looking for a trainer, I’m always happy to recommend some great local trainers who may be a good fit.

Training by Robyn isn’t going anywhere. I’ll still be training my current clients, writing my weekly blog, creating fitness content and continuing to grow Yoga with Robyn. 🧘‍♀️

Just making a little room for whatever comes next. ❤️

Happy Sunday!

Strength, endurance, mobility and muscle don’t all disappear at the same rate if you stop training.

In this week’s blog, I’m breaking down what tends to decline first, what sticks around longer than you might think, and why taking a little time off doesn’t mean starting over.

What happens to your fitness when you stop exercising? Learn which components decline the fastest, why strength lasts longer, and how to maintain the fitness you’ve built.

So if there’s no perfect workout, how do you figure out what you should actually be doing?

Start with what you want your body to be better at, then build your week around that.

Want to build muscle and get stronger? Make strength training the priority and aim for 2–4 well-planned sessions each week.

Training for a 10K? Running needs to take up more of your week, but adding 1–2 strength sessions can help you build a more well-rounded program.

Love lifting but feel stiff and want to move better? Keep your strength training and add a yoga session rather than feeling like you need to choose between the two.

Just trying to become more active and healthier? Two full-body strength workouts, regular walks and something you genuinely enjoy on the weekend is a great place to start.

And if you used to train 5–6 days a week but your life doesn’t allow for that anymore? A well-designed 3-day full-body program can still cover your squat, hinge, push, pull, single-leg work, core and movement in different planes.

That’s what I mean when I say there is no perfect workout.

Your goal determines what you need to prioritize. Your schedule determines how you fit it in. And your program should be built around both.

I included actual beginner and busy-lifestyle workout examples in my blog Why There Is No Perfect Workout if you want a little more direction. You can find it through the link in my bio 🔗

What are you currently trying to get better at: strength, muscle, endurance, mobility, or just being more consistent?

What you do in private always shows in public, and this is such good news.

Your diet shows in your energy. Your diet shows in your skin. Your diet shows in your confidence. Your diet shows in your results.

The whole foods you eat when no one’s watching…the vegetables, the healthy fats, the clean proteins, they don’t just disappear. They become the clarity you feel at 2pm instead of brain fog. They become the natural glow people notice. They become steady energy that lasts all day, not the crash-and-burn cycle of processed foods and sugar.

You can’t fake real nourishment. Your body tells the truth. Feed it real food, and it shows. Skip the nutrients it needs, and that shows too.

You are what you cultivate when no one is watching. And every single meal is either building you up or breaking you down. Choose foods that serve you.

Strength training will always be a big part of what I do, but I’ve learned to appreciate how much better it feels when you can actually move well too 💃🏼

Yoga doesn’t have to replace your workouts. It can help you work on the mobility, control and range of motion that supports the strength you’re already building.

This 15 minute lower body flow is a great one to add after a workout, on a recovery day, or when your hips and legs are just feeling a little tight.

And yes, you can usually expect at least one appearance from one of my two cats or my dog in these videos 😂🐾

The full flow is up now on my Yoga with Robyn YouTube channel 🧘‍♀️

What’s harder for you to make time for: strength training or mobility?
