To close out the event we have both Sara Bradley - Powerlifting Coach in the m1 u76kg and Joseph Chamberlain in the m1 u120kg

Centrals.

This year we had 5 of our athletes and 9 members competing. Was a pleasure to see lots of our group break Provincial and national records as well as setting personal bests across the board.

Into the Provincials / Commonwealths 😅

Two of our very own take to the international stage this week.

Camille Gaudreau-Lévesque will be representing Canada at the North American Championships in the Open u84kg category.

Kim will be competing at the Euro Bench Press championships in the Open u76kg category.

We are looking forward to both big dogs do the thing!

Recently a few of our athletes attended IPF Bench Press World Championships in Poland. The event was a bit of a mixed bag with some amazing highs and some lows to follow.

Noah Tremblett , Nicole Ross , Joseph Chamberlain and made all proud fiery how hard they worked leading up to and on the platform.

The team ended up coming home with 2 Open worlds medals in the u76 division and the 120+ division to boot.

I’ve filmed plenty of knee wrap tutorials BUT here we are with a wrist wrap overview of my preferred method.

The idea behind wrapping to to stabilize / support and restrict a joint to get more out of it, this is not any different with a wrist. We’ve talked about the ideal bar position being the heel of the hand to better stack the bar in relation to our elbow but how do we support the wrist in doing so?

In the video we are using a diagonal “X” wrap at the top of the approved limit, the idea here is create a pocket for the wrist to sink into and support the thumb as it’s supporting the bar in that lower hand position. This style of wrapping is also good for helping to reduce the amount wrist extension under great loads.

Give it a shot.
