The Banff Canoe Club Looking for something fun to do? Rent a Canoe/Kayak or SUP and journey up the beautiful Bow River.

At the Banff Canoe Club we believe everyone should have access to the wonderfully canadian sport of canoeing! Our goal is to make canoeing an affordable activity so that visitors and residents alike can explore the water. We are committed to engaging the community in the sport of canoeing and connecting people to Banff National Park. We rent canoes, kayaks, StandUp Paddleboards (off-site rentals)

and cruiser bikes from the canoe docks on the Bow River. Our boat house is stocked with Banff Canoe Club Souvenirs so you can take a memory home. From the canoe docks, paddlers can explore a gentle stretch of the Bow River or follow forty mile creek into Vermillion Lakes. All of our rentals and tours include the use of life jackets and paddles.

🏃‍♂️🚧 Banff Marathon Road Closures – Sunday, June 14 🚧🏃‍♀️

If you're planning to join us at Banff Canoe Club this Sunday, please allow a little extra travel time as the Banff Marathon will be taking place in town.

Road closures and traffic impacts:
• Bow Avenue (Buffalo St to Wolf St) CLOSED from 6:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Buffalo Street (Bear St to Bow Ave) CLOSED from 6:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• Norquay Road reduced to one lane from 8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Good news: We are still open as usual for rentals and tours! 🛶

If you're driving in, we recommend parking at the Banff Train Station, which offers free all-day parking and is still the easiest place to leave your vehicle before making your way down to the river.

We’re pretty lucky to call the Bow River our workplace. Every day out here is a reminder of just how special this place is. The mountain views to the wildlife and everything in between, it just feels special.

Days like today are a good reminder to slow down, appreciate it, and do our part to help keep it that way.

Kayak rentals and kayak experiences are now open at Banff Canoe Club. We'd love to see you out there.

We're still keeping a close eye on river conditions and will continue to share updates on canoe rentals and Big Canoe Tours as things change.
