Fantastic Fishing Opportunities
Fish the protected waters of the scenic Barkley Sound and surrounding offshore areas from June to September. Troll for all salmon species starting with the highly prized Chinook or “King Salmon.” Bucktail for feisty Cohos [silvers]. Sockeye fishing is second to none the last 2 weeks of June. In the outer parameters of Barkley Sound anglers can jig up Pacific Halibut in the 30 to 50 pound range. Larger sized Halibut have been boated occasionally weighing in the 70′s and 80′s with the biggest Hali weighing in at 125 pounds. Bamfield is 80 kilometers from Port Alberni on a logging road. A great alternative is to book the Francis Barkley which is a beautiful trip down the Alberni Inlet to Bamfield and back. Or have us pick you up in Port Alberni and fish down the Inlet to Bamfield in our boat, a 28 ” Baha Cruiser with twin 200 hp.
