POWER SKATING is a high-energy instructional program geared towards hockey and ringette players. This program focuses on balance, control and agility skills including components of power and speed. Skating skills, techniques and performance drills are taught in a progressive format to enhance the skating ability required in game situations. Not only does Power Skating improve straight-line acceleration, but also backward skating, tight glide turns, forward and backward crossovers and more. 🏒💨

POWER 1 - Ages 5 - 9 yrs
POWER 2 - Ages 10 yrs and older

Skaters must have strong basic forward and backward skating skills to register in our power skating programs. Full hockey/ringette equipment is required, including stick.

Registration is now open for our Pre-Season, Fall, Christmas Break, Winter, and March Break sessions.

CanSkate - Ages 5+ (or 4 years old with previous skating experience)

Teen/Adult CanSkate - Ages 12+

CanSkate is the Skate Canada nationally acclaimed learn-to-skate program that teaches a comprehensive series of balance, control, and agility skills. This program is for skaters who want to develop the strong fundamental skating skills for hockey, figure skating, speed skating, ringette, or recreational skating.

The program is organized into three Fundamental areas and divided into six stages of learning. Skaters will rotate between stations for instruction of all three fundamentals:

🟢Balance: Focus on forward skills, pushing technique and edges.
🔴Control: Focus on backward skills, stopping and speed elements.
🔵Agility: Focus on turning and jumping skills.

Skaters earn ribbons and badges as they succeed through the program and will receive a report card outlining their progress.
