We love following along on ’s adventures! Agnes’s Board is the Plus edition. It’s weight of 20lbs is just a couple more than the standard boards, but this one has a capacity of 300lbs. This option is great news for folks who paddle together, paddle with dogs, or paddle with kids.

We put together a list of essential gear for your SUP adventures!

Renting or borrowing a SUP is an option while you test gear to find your preferences and to understand the difference between inflatable and hard. Another suggestion - if you’re new to paddling - is to take a SUP paddling course. Nature’s Edge Tourism is an awesome Indigenous female owned business that promotes safety, inclusivity, and accessibility.

In addition to your SUP, you’ll want to ensure you have your paddle and pump with you. All of our boards come with paddles, manual pumps (like a bicycle tire pump), and leashes. In addition to this, all the boards come with a patch kit, a backpack, and other assorted accessories.

One of the most important pieces of gear is the Personal Flotation Device (PFD). You’ll want to ensure you have a PFD with you if you’re leaving designated swim areas as they’re required by Navigation Canada.

A tow rope and whistle are required should you be leaving the designated swim area, but a light is also very helpful should you find yourself out on the water after dark… this can help you navigate but also alert other boaters to your presence on the water.

Little is here to remind you that PFDs are cool for the whole fam if you’re heading out onto the water.✌️
