If you’ve been in the gym recently, you’ve probably already spotted our very newest upgrade! In fact, you’ve likely noticed several fantastic additions around the gym 👀

After 4 years as part of the Ultimate Fitness team, Kennedy is heading into an exciting new chapter. ❤️

But her story with UF started long before she became a staff member.

Kennedy first came to Ultimate Fitness when she was around 11 years old. Her dad, a personal trainer, would sometimes bring her along for his own workouts, and after seeing how much she enjoyed being active, he introduced her to UF’s after-school athletes program.

She’s been part of the community ever since!

Over the years, Ultimate Fitness became much more than a place Kennedy worked or trained. It became a place where she built friendships, relationships and memories with both staff and members — a community she describes as feeling like a second family 🖤

Now she’s heading to Brock University in St. Catharines to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. While she’s still discovering exactly where that path will lead, she’s already developed a strong interest in physical rehabilitation, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Kennedy, thank you for growing with us, working alongside us and being such a special part of the UF family. From athlete to team member, you’ll always have people here cheering you on.

Over the years, so many incredible people have been part of the Ultimate Fitness team - each leaving their own mark on the community, the members, and the culture here.

Tomorrow, we’re celebrating one of those people as she gets ready for her next chapter Kennedy ❤️

12 years at Ultimate Fitness from junior weightlifting to Coach Jadyn. 💪

Jadyn first joined Ultimate when her mom was taking part in semi-private classes and the gym had just launched its junior weightlifting program.

Twelve years later, she’s been part of the Ultimate team for 9 years and coaching for the past 3.

“The people that make up Ultimate Fitness have always inspired me to be a better human, athlete, and professional.”

For Jadyn, one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching the work people put in at the gym carry over into stronger, healthier everyday lives.

She especially enjoys working with seniors and general-population clients, with a focus on functional strength, balance and mobility.

And after growing up here, there’s still one thing she loves most:

The strongest spaces are shaped by the people who keep showing up, growing, encouraging others, and becoming part of what makes a place feel like home.

Calling all sports parents 👋

Fall registration season is here, which means hockey practices, ringette, swim lessons, and those all too familiar little blocks of time where you’re close enough that going home doesn’t make sense… but not quite long enough to get much else done.

So here’s an idea: let their practice time become your self-care time, too!

While the kids are at the Nick Smith Centre, Ultimate Fitness is just across the parking lot.

Instead of spending that hour sitting in the car or scrolling your phone, use it however you need it:

A workout.
A Group Fit class.
30 minutes of cardio with your headphones on.
Weights.
A good stretch and foam roll.
Or simply an hour where you get to take care of your own body for a change.

It doesn’t have to be a huge fitness commitment to count.

As you’re registering the kids for their fall activities, consider giving yourself a little investment too - whether that’s a 1-month or 3-month membership, or joining us for Group Fit classes.

Their practice is already in the calendar.

Maybe this Fall, their practice time can become your self-care time too ❤️
