📣 UPPER NORTH ZONE – PHASE 3 UPDATE 🏒

Upper North Zone Pre-Season Schedules
⚠️ IMPORTANT: It was brought to our attention this morning that the schedule link — along with the email scheduled to go out Saturday morning — unfortunately did not send.
Because of this, if your player is unable to attend this evening’s ice time, please let us know. Their absence will be excused and will NOT affect their opportunity to make the team they are continuing to try out for.
This week, interim coaches will be running practices. The focus will be on commitments rather than reassignments while we work toward naming Head Coaches who will guide each team through the remainder of the selection process.
🏒 REFEREE COURSE CONFLICTS
We also recognize that some players have conflicts with referee courses this week. We greatly appreciate our players who are committed to officiating and giving back to the game. Absences resulting from referee-course conflicts will also be excused.
📍 PRACTICE LOCATIONS
• Salmon Arm Tier 2 → Salmon Arm
• North Okanagan Tier 3 → Enderby
• Sicamous Tier 4 → Sicamous
These locations will remain in place through the end of the pre-season schedule.

A **HUGE SHOUT OUT** to the NOMHA players, families, volunteers and supporters who hit the streets and proudly represented **North Okanagan Minor Hockey** in the **Interior Provincial Exhibition Parade!** 🎡🎉

We brought the FLOAT. 🚛🏒
We brought the GOODIES. 🍬🍭
We brought the HOCKEY ENERGY. 🔥
And we brought a whole lot of **NOMHA PRIDE!** 💜💛

And we have to give an **EXTRA BIG SHOUT OUT to Jena Carlsen and Tracy Berrecloth** for helping make this all happen! 👏👏👏

From organizing and planning to getting everything together and making sure NOMHA was represented at the parade — **THANK YOU!** 💜

We also know there were others who jumped in, helped behind the scenes, decorated, organized, hauled things around and made the day happen whose names we may not know — **this shout out is for YOU too!** 🙌

It takes a crew to pull something like this together, and we are incredibly thankful for every person who gave their time to make it happen.

Seeing our hockey community out there waving, smiling, handing out goodies and representing NOMHA was AWESOME!

This is what **grassroots minor hockey** is all about. It’s bigger than what happens at the rink — it’s about our kids, our families, our volunteers and showing up for the communities we call home. 🏒❤️

Reminder

🏒💙 WELCOME BACK, NOMHA FAMILIES! 💙🏒

Another hockey season is almost here, and we’re excited to get our 2026/27 season underway! This year, we’re starting things a little differently.

Ice becomes available in Enderby and Armstrong starting September 7, so we’re taking full advantage with a “Dust Off the Skates” week! ⛸️🏒

Each division has been assigned pre-season ice, with some divisions split into smaller groups. Please review the attached schedule carefully and make sure your athlete attends their designated session.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: These are NOT your regular season practice times.

Our plan is to have everyone assigned to teams with coaches by September 12. Our goal is to send families their regular practice schedules on September 12, so everyone can start the season on a team, connected with their coach and set up in TeamSnap.

On September 5, NOMHA will be rolling through the Interior Provincial Exhibition parade in Armstrong—and we want our hockey community to join the fun!

We’re looking for enthusiastic NOMHA players, families and volunteers to help us bring the energy! Come walk alongside the NOMHA float, represent the Knights, wave to the crowd and help pass out candy along the parade route. 🍬💜

Wear your NOMHA colours, bring your biggest smiles and help us show everyone what the North Okanagan hockey community is all about!

🏒 UPPER NORTH ZONE U13 UPDATE 🏒

On behalf of the Upper North Zone Committee, we would like to thank every player for their tremendous effort throughout this past weekend.

The tryouts were extremely competitive, and we are encouraged by the feedback received regarding the process. Once tryouts have fully concluded, a series of surveys will be distributed. As always, your positive and constructive feedback is valuable and helps us continue improving the Upper North Zone program.

Tryouts are now complete, and the players identified on the posted list have been added to the U13 Tier 3 Oversized Roster.

The preseason schedule is attached. The oversized-roster phase of team selection will begin following the Labour Day long weekend.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Any player reassigned from the U13 Tier 3 oversized roster is guaranteed a committed roster spot with Tier 4 Sicamous.
