Well folks we know you're as excited as us for the 161st Antigonish Highland Games, but we've got another great event coming up in July! Registration will open on Monday, June 22nd at 9:00am, for our annual Clann a’ Bhaile Mhóir Summer Camp! These camps are run by our summer staff, and they are always filled with fun and educational lessons on Gaelic culture and language. Gaelic experience is not necessary, so long as you enjoy all the great cultural practices of the Gaels, you're more than welcome to take part! We will have two age groups, so visit our website antigonishhighlandgames.ca, hover over the Society tab, and click on Youth Programs to sign your little Gaels up!!!

Our next THANK YOU post goes to the wonderful people at Nova Construction, who have generously sponsored the Men's Tug of War! Nova has been supporting the Games for decades, whether it's through traffic control during our annual parade, volunteering on the field, or lending their support through sponsorship. No matter what issue arises, Nova Construction has consistently stepped up to ensure the Games proceeds successfully each year. The 161st Antigonish Highland Games wouldn't be possible without the incredible support we receive from all levels of government, including of course the Federal Government of Canada! Programs like the BCAH grant provide crucial funding for community events like the AHG. They help to ensure that not for profit organizations can focus on what matters, delivering high quality events that focus on the community and those who reside here. We couldn't be more grateful for their continued support each and every year, and we appreciate all they do to sustain communities and events across our country!!!

We can't wait for these fine folks to take the Stage on July 11th! We are thrilled to have and performing at the Party in the Park, two bands that are sure to get your feet moving! Coastline are a newly formed group from Cape Breton, and they are quickly making a name for themselves as one of the best live acts in our region! Beech Hill are no strangers to the Games, having performed the last several years to great fanfare. They always come ready to rock the tent, and this year promises to be their biggest and best show yet!!!

Today we'd like to extend an extra special THANK YOU to our dear friend and longtime volunteer for the AHS, Ron Chisholm, as well as his son Colin and all the incredible folks at Keltic Ford , sponsors of the Atlantic Canada Pipe Band Championships! While every sponsor we have does more than their fair share to ensure the Games succeed, Ron has been particularly committed to this cause over the years. He served as President of the AHS as well as a board member for many years, and he has assisted with coordinating piping and drumming for the last number of years as well. He is a lifetime member of the AHS, the highest distinction we can bestow, and certainly a well deserved honour for such a true advocate for Scottish Highland culture. His son Colin also served on our board, and is a regular at many of our events. We can't thank them enough for their support in so many ways for so many years. In the coming days, you should start seeing full event schedules popping up throughout the community, where you can get all the details on the great events taking place on Columbus field and throughout the community during the 161st Antigonish Highland Games! It promises to be one of our biggest years yet, and we can't wait to see you there!

We are only weeks away from the start of the 161st Antigonish Highland Games!!! It's going to be one of our biggest years yet, and tickets are available now!

Check out the loaded lineup for our Concert Under the Stars; book your tickets for the Saturday night Party in the Park with Beech Hill and Coastline; come see all your old favourites, piping and drumming, highland dance, tug of war, the heavy events, the highland five miler, and so much more! Don't miss the return of the highland bike race!

There will even be sword demonstrations on Sunday morning! There's something for everyone this year!!!
