The Dog Pounds annual hot dog eating contest!

Join us!
At the Dog Pound (25 Church St) on Canada Day at 2:00 p.m. to see who can eat the most hotdogs (out of 10, including the bun) within 15 minutes!

Think you can win? (18+)
Want to compete? Visit The Dog Pound between 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to enter your name. Participants will be randomly selected and announced over the speaker at The Dog Pound shortly before the competition starts at 2:00 p.m.

Be sure to listen for your name and be ready to join the action!

On June 13, 2026, downtown Amherst in Victoria Square (58 East Victoria St) will be filled with pride from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

At 2 p.m. starting in Victoria Square there will be the Pride Parade. To follow at 4 p.m. there will be a Pride dance in Victoria Square!
