Green Snake Trail

Green Snake Trail Alma's Recreational Hiking & Biking Trail A notable mountain bike trail on the outskirts of the Village of Alma

07/07/2020

Greenough Brook crossing has been patched up with nice stones all the way through the muddy part. We'll have to see how it holds up over the winter. The 6x6 bridge washed downstream despite being cabled to a tree; it would take at least 4 people to carry that thing back to the crossing and even then it would just wash away again. We'll see how the rocks work out - it is great for now but in Spring when the water is higher you may have to wade across.

Re: trail access from Alma:

Currently the best way to access the trail from town is to go up School Street and there is a grown over road on the left side with a white "No Parking" barricade. You ARE allowed to go through there it is a right of way - just park your car at the parking lot at the bottom of the hill. Once you enter that road go up the hill and you will find the trail.

all deadfalls and major obstacles/branches have been cleared the trail is in great shape and ready to use

squiggly part is the trail, the top part shows the road access from the 45.
