Firewood alert! Help stop the spread of forest pests like Dutch elm disease and emerald ash borer.

🔥 Buy firewood locally and burn it on-site; never transport it home.
🔥 Avoid transporting elm firewood into Alberta.
🔥 Do not transport pine firewood if it’s known to be infested by live mountain pine beetles.
🔥 Use clean wood for fires, avoiding painted or treated wood to preserve the health of nearby campers and the environment.
🔥 Cut wood into short lengths to fit fire receptacles and contain flames effectively.
🔥 Be prepared with alternative cooking and heating methods in case of fire bans or restrictions.

Effective immediately, Lacombe County’s Fire restriction has been lifted, thanks to improved moisture conditions within the area. Our fire permitting system has reopened and can be accessed online or by calling 403-782-8959.

PLEASE REMEMBER | Conditions can change quickly, and residents are encouraged to check our website for additional fire safety information and updates, as well as the Alberta Fire Bans website (https://www.albertafirebans.ca) for the most current province-wide information.

Effective April 19, 2024, at 8:00 AM, a Fire Restriction is in effect for all of Lacombe County due to exceptionally dry conditions and a lack of foreseeable precipitation. At this time, Lacombe County has cancelled current fire permits and suspended any fire permit requests. All existing fires to which the ban applies must be extinguished immediately.
