RePosted from .alberta • Tyrell Rohl has been the head coach of the Airdrie Storm Pee-Wee team since 2017. Over the years, he has steadily built a strong foundation for the team. The Storm have gone undefeated in the Calgary Pee-Wee League for the past three seasons and have won the last two championships.
However, Tyrell’s recognition this year goes beyond just these championships. He emphasizes the importance of player development, prioritizing this aspect of coaching alongside winning games. Each player is guaranteed to participate in at least 50% of the game, and Tyrell insists that passing the ball is just as important as running it.
In 2024, the Storm’s offense passed for over 2,000 yards while rushing for approximately 1,500 yards, which is quite impressive for the Pee-Wee level. Furthermore, Tyrell holds the same high standards for the players in the Airdrie Storm Atom program.
A true innovator, a champion coach, and a class act, Tyrell Rohl is the 2024 Atom/Pee-Wee Coach of the Year.
