NST returns to action at Penticton Speedway Saturday night

The Northwest Sprint Tour will continue its 2026 racing season Saturday night in British Columbiaโ€™s Okanagan Valley at Penticton Speedway.

This year will mark the fifth time that NST has visited the quarter mile oval nestled high in the mountains overlooking Lake Okanagan, with last yearโ€™s race winner Jeff Montgomery road tripping from Owosso Speedway in Michigan back to Penticton after running in Wednesdayโ€™s Race for the Million.

The Rob Leighton Motorsports team did not have the night they were looking for, dropping back to 12th after starting on the front row and leading the opening laps.

โ€œWe had a good short run car, it just really fell off during the main event,โ€ said Montgomery.

Also in action at Owosso was Aaron Willison, who finished second to race winner Kody Swanson. Willison will be back behind the wheel of his own 41 car this weekend at Penticton after flying back from Michigan.

At the season opener for the NST at Evergreen Speedway Willison dominated the main event, emerging as the points leader following the event.

โ€œWe thought weโ€™d dust off the old girl and have some fun and it worked out,โ€ said Willison following the main event at Evergreen.

A full field of Winged Sprint Cars are expected at Penticton, with practice Friday ahead of race day on Saturday.

Get your tickets at pentictonspeedway.com (http://pentictonspeedway.com/) or at the front gate!

In two week's time Penticton Speedway will play host to the Northwest Sprint Tour for the fifth time June 6th for the track's first event of the 2026 season.

Last year at Penticton Jeff Montgomery Racing "The Hurricane" scored the main event win ahead of James Miller and Aaron Willison Racing for the 33J's lone win of the 2025 season.

This year Willison comes into the second event of the season as the points leader following his win in the opening race of the 2026 season at Evergreen Speedway in his own 41 car.

Willison and Montgomery will both race next Wednesday at Owosso Speedway for the second Race For The Million event, with both drivers tentatively planning to rush back for Penticton on Saturday.
