2023 BAA BOARD ELECTIONS

This serves as a notification that the Botswana Athletics Association has an elective congress scheduled for the 18th March 2023.

The elections are in accordance with the BAA Constitution, article 20, which states that every four (4) years, elections of substantive positions in the BAA Board shall be conducted, at an Annual General Meeting.

We further inform you that the elections committee successfully completed the vetting process post the deadline for receiving applications, on Monday 27th February 2023. In addition, canvassing for the elections will run until 17th March 2023.

Eighteen (18) candidates are eligible to contest for various positions in the BAA Board.

The position of the President is contested for by two (2) candidates, Vice President Administration position two (2) candidates, Vice President Sport Development three (3) candidates, Vice President Finace position,a single candidates unopposed, Regional Chairperson position; South Central region two (2) candidates, Southern region four (4) candidates, Central region two (2) candidates and North region two (4) candidates.

Details regarding the Presidential debate scheduled for Friday 10th March 2023, will be shared during the day.
