*FIE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE | DAY 2 🇭🇰🇧🇼*

Senior Men’s fencer Fencing Master Koketso Masena BW took to the piste today for Botswana.

While he didn’t proceed to the direct elimination stage, he fought hard and gave everything to represent our country with pride.

We are incredibly proud of both Koketso and Aobakwe for their strength, determination, and the experience gained on this world stage. This is just the beginning for Botswana Fencing 🤺

The team will now be preparing to head back home. We will share details on their arrival once confirmed.

*Next Mission*: We are now focused on preparing our Junior Team for the Commonwealth Games in Nigeria this August. We are still looking for sponsors and partners to help make this possible. DM us if you’d like to support our fencers.

Day 1 in the books!

Senior Women’s fencer Aobakwe Mongie Modise gave it her all on the piste today. While she didn’t proceed to the direct eliminations, we are so proud — she fenced with heart, learned a ton, and represented Botswana with pride. Well done Aobakwe! 💙

🇧🇼 BOTSWANA AT THE FIE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 🇭🇰

Our Botswana National Fencing Team has safely arrived in Hong Kong for the FIE World Championships!

Representing us on the piste:
Senior Women: Aobakwe Modise
Senior Men: Koketso Masena
Head of Delegation & Team Manager: Chawada Siku

They touched down yesterday and will be competing over the next few days.

We wish Team Botswana the very best — go out there, have fun, learn, and make us proud! 💪

Next up: We are already preparing for the Commonwealth Games in Nigeria this August, where we will be taking our Junior Team.

Botswana Fencing Federation is taking the next step 🤺🇧🇼

We’re proud to announce the upcoming launch of parafencing in Botswana — opening the piste to more athletes and making the sport truly inclusive.

We’ll be hosting an introduction training and we’re currently engaging partners and sponsors to make this a reality.
