SOME DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A COMPANY AND A BUSINESS

The differences between a Business and a company are as follows:

1. A company is legal entity with its own character like a person. E.g It can own property and other resources in its name.

2. A company can be sued without suing the owner but a business can be sued together with the owner

3. A company can own a business name under it e.g kemona (Pty) Ltd can own kemona Cleaning Services or kamoso Car wash. These businesses are registered under the company and they are owned by the company. When you advertise the businesses or on official documents it will be Kemona Holdings (Pty) Ltd Trading As Kamoso Car Wash. I guess you do see that often.

4. A company files annual returns at C**A and pays P500 annually. A business does not pay any returns but only confirmation of its existence every 3 years

5. A company needs to appoint a company Secretary within 3 months of registration as per the Companies Act.

6. At ALMANEO HOLDINGS (Pty) Ltd It costs P1500 including C**A Charges to register a company online. The package includes Company registration , Secretary Appointment,issue Share Certificate, Bank Account Opening Documents and Income Tax Registration and Tax Clearance Certificate application .

8. You can register as many business names under a company while a business only stays one.

9. A company can be registered in more than 1 country.

When change comes, the species that survives is the one best able to adapt.

A tree understands that to survive a strong gust of wind it must bend in the direction of the wind flow. The moment the wind surge passes, the tree immediately springs back to it's original form. This is adaptation and flexibility.

In business if you do not adapt to change you will definitely count your losses faster than you can count to five. The only constant in life is change. You cannot reverse engineer change. Whether you like it or not, it will happen. It's just a matter of how soon you can adapt to it that matters.

Kodak failed to adapt to the market shift from photographic to digital film and paid the price. We no longer tallk of Kodak moments today but selfie moments as the digital revolution has changed the way we record and store memories.

Nokia and BlackBerry also failed to read the evolution of the cellular market and the advent of cross messaging platforms and were soon overtaken by Samsung, Hwawei and WhatsApp.

It's an exciting time to be alive today. There is so much knowledge on the internet. There are so many opportunities today to become a millionaire than at any other time in the history of the world.

We are privileged to exist in this age so dont despair. Great opportunity awaits those who can adapt to change quickly.
