And many a times, we have seen and felt the letters unfold into actions.

Even in fighting this pandemic, our first line of defence is our security forces, who continue to span over 600 kms of our dense, perilous borders. Their spirit remains kindled, deterred by neither heat nor cold, neither rain nor sun.

We often take it for granted, the comfort we live with, the peace we enjoy. But it’s all in the toil and blood of our three armed-forces—the Royal Body Guard, Royal Bhutan Army, and Royal Bhutan Police — and we should never forget that.

On this Armed Forces’ Day, for the patriotism, dedication and service you render to the Tsa-Wa-Sum, the people of Bhutan and I, thank you.

Diego Maradona (60), one of the all-time great footballers, passed away reportedly after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The Argentine footballer is best known for captaining and winning the 1986 World Cup, arguably single-handedly.

According to international media, Argentina has declared three days of national mourning following his death.
