"Sports is empowering," says 15 year old Tandin Wangmo (Two time National Tennis Champion 2015-2016), a sentiment also shared by other female atheletes like 19 year old Jangchub (Taekwondon athelete) and 15 year old Tshering (Track runner). Participation in sport and physical activities positively impacts physical and mental health, and reduce the probability of young people engaging in drug use, thereby helping them live better and fuller lives. Sports, especially, can give girls the skills and confidence to break down barriers and achieve goals throughout their lives. 💜

So, in an effort to promote girls' participation in sports, the Women in Sports Committee under BOC presents campaign (in partnership with Yeewong). Support this cause for our girls because they need your cheers too.🙋🙋🙋

All interested ladies (no age limit) in trying out for the Women's National Basketball Team are requested to come for try outs starting tomorrow on Tuesday, Thursday (7:00-9:00pm) and Saturday at 5:00-7:00pm at the Swimming Pool Basketball Court.

FIBA ASIA DEVELOPMENT PLAN CLINIC FOR REFEREES, 2017.
Thimphu, Bhutan: 18 Participants including 4 Bhutan Youth Basketball (BYB) Referees, Lhendup D. Dorji (BBF) 3 RBA Referees, Tshewang Drukdra (Gedu College), Sonam Tshewang (BOC), BYB intern referees and Coach Kim Kiyong is attending the FIBA Asia Referee Clinic organized by the Bhutan Basketball Federation in the capital city of Thimphu.
The program is conducted by a Federation International Basketball Association (FIBA) certified FIBA Referee Instructor Mr. Naresh Aneja. Mr. Naresh Aneja provides theory based Learning in the morning sessions and practical sessions in the evening.
The federation hopes that such course will help the Referees improve their knowledge about the Referee and help them hone their skills. BBF hopes that this will assist in their performance during tournaments.
The program started from today (9th/01/2017) and will end on the 11th of January, 2017.
