Today our two dedicated athletes, Gawa Zangpo and Sangay Sangay , along with Coach Varun Krishnan, have departed to represent Bhutan at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, scheduled from 19 September to 4 October 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

🇧🇹 Sangay – 5,000m & 10,000m

The entire Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation (BAAF) family extends our heartfelt best wishes to our athletes and coach as they embark on this prestigious journey and proudly carry the national flag onto the Asian stage.

Today, Pelkil School successfully conducted the Kids’ Athletics Program with the enthusiastic participation of young students and the dedicated support of their teachers.

A total of 190 students from Pre-Primary (PP) to Class III actively participated in the program, engaging in fun, inclusive, and age-appropriate athletics activities.

The active involvement of the teachers and the enthusiasm of the children made the program a meaningful platform to promote physical literacy, teamwork, confidence, and a love for movement from an early age.

👏 Congratulations and appreciation to the Pelkhil School, dedicated teachers and all 190 young participants!

The Bhutan Bhutan Amateur Athletic Federation (BAAF), in collaboration with paro college of education (PCE) and the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), successfully introduced the Kids’ Athletics Course as part of the Diploma in Sports Coaching and Management programme.

This initiative marks an important step towards strengthening grassroots athletics, physical literacy, and quality sports coaching education in Bhutan. By equipping future coaches with the knowledge and practical skills of Kids’ Athletics, we aim to nurture a strong foundation for the upcoming young athletes.

The collaboration will continue to explore and expand opportunities through E-learning platforms, digital learning resources, continuous assessment, and practical application, ensuring that aspiring coaches receive accessible and quality learning opportunities.

Together, we remain committed to building a stronger and more sustainable sports ecosystem in Bhutan. 🇧🇹
