Happening Now! 🎉
A two-day program, "Road to 45th Chess Olympiad," made possible with the incredible support of the Indian Bhutan Foundation at Bhutan Olympic Committee Hall.
The Chess Olympiad is an unparalleled platform where nations showcase their chess prowess, and Bhutan is gearing up for an incredible performance at the 45th Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary, set to take place from 10 to 23 September 2024.
After a promising debut in the 44th Chess Olympiad held in 2022 in Chennai, Bhutan is all set to level up its game for the upcoming event. 19 talented players have been nominated based on their exceptional performances in previous tournaments to participate in this program. However, only 10 Players are attending the program because of exams and personal reasons.
Under the expert guidance of International Master Atanu Lahiri from India, these players will undergo an intensive 7-month online coaching series to hone their skills. Following this training, they'll engage in an internal tournament, where only the TOP 10 (5 Males and 5 Females) will proceed to the next stage of training exclusively for the Olympiad.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Bhutan Foundation for their unwavering support in making this journey possible. Their belief in nurturing talent and fostering international collaboration is invaluable.
We're immensely proud to announce that IM Atanu Lahiri will not only lead this intensive training but also captain our team at the forthcoming Olympiad.
