HJGT Palm Beach Junior Open at Park Ridge GC ๐โณ๏ธ
Once again Albany Golf Academy students had a very successful weekend, this time at the HJGT Palm Beach Junior Open.
Sadly the trip started with significant disruption caused by a 6+ hour flight delay and practice rounds had to be cancelled with no way to see the golf course before the tournament began! Although this is not something we would ever wish for, it is something that was out of our control and happens in life and the only positive is that it meant that our students had to quickly adapt to the situation and use knowledge, information collected, past experiences and importantly information we had provided our students during training back at Albany Bahamas to help them adapt.
With winds reaching 30 MPH and very cold weather conditions throughout both days, our students had to adapt and prepare themselves for the challenge that lay ahead. The golf course was challenging, with many blind tee shots and firm small greens!
We are extremely proud of all students but special mentions must go to our two winners! Many congratulations to Grace Crawford (Girls 14-18 Division) with a winning margin of an impressive 9 shots and to Kerrington Rolle (Boys 14-15 Division) who managed to get the job done with a birdie on the last to win by two! ๐๐ฝ
Overall, the weekend has seen our students have to adapt and overcome challenges, obstacles and barriers that were presented throughout, providing wonderful learning opportunities. We look forward to continuing the work with our students when we return to Albany Bahamas. Well done everyone once again! ๐๐๐ฝ
