Currently, most coaches tracks data, but how many actually use it to make better decisions? 🤔

A 2025 study surveyed 130 coaches across 14 countries to find out how wearable technology is really being used in the field and the gap between collecting data and applying it might surprise you.

📊 Heart rate, GPS, HRV, sleep… the tools are there. But what separates coaches who transform numbers into results from those who just check a dashboard?

🔬A practical example:
Two coaches both own a Garmin. Coach A finds HRV data genuinely useful for adjusting training loads → they use it daily. Coach B sees the same HRV numbers but doesn’t understand how to apply them → they ignore it. That perception gap is what “perceived usefulness” captures and it explains more of the difference in behavior than any other factor in the study.

✅ The big takeaway for practitioners:
It’s not about having the fanciest device. If a coach doesn’t perceive the data as genuinely useful for decision-making, they won’t use it, no matter how accurate it is. That’s why the study emphasizes education and practical guidelines as the bridge between owning a wearable and actually leveraging it.

I invite you to swipe through the carousel and check out the key findings of the study. 👉

As a Strength and Conditioning coach, you can use some science-backed tools to effectively monitor your athletes' training load and reduce the risk of injury. 📊

Above I present some of these strategies.📌

Victory or defeat in wrestling is dependent on essential elements that normally occur under conditions of fatigue, including high levels of dynamic and isometric strength, power, quickness, cardiorespiratory conditioning and flexibility, as well as stress management and psychological resilience.

Due to the complexity of the demands imposed on this sport, it is necessary to organize a highly integrated and individualised strength and conditioning training program.

Regarding to the evaluation and monitoring of maximum strength levels (dynamic and isometric) and reactive/ballistic capacity (dynamic strength/power) in high-performance Wrestling athletes, it is suggested to carry out a follow-up neuromuscular assessment throughout the season in order to ensure optimal control of the training load, a good state of readiness pre-competition and reduce the risk of injury/return to sport.

Considering the information mentioned above and other particularities, we started monitoring the neuromuscular performance (NP) of the Polish Wrestling Champion, Arek, from the end of last year, in order to collect a periodic and reliable data about his NP level. Once we finish the test battery and analysis of the results, the last step is to provide a data report to his S&C Coach, Pawel Krótki, to help him carry out the training plan and control all of the variables even more accurate and specific to the needs of the athlete.

If you want to know more details about this type of evaluation, feel free to contact us through one of our platforms.

The monitoring of the neuromuscular status throughout the season allows the coaches/medical team to make a more accurate decision regarding the control of the training load and management of the invention during the process of returning to sport. 📊🏋🏽🤾🏼‍♂️

Yesterday we had the pleasure of receiving Arkadiusz Kulynycz fanpage (Mistrz Polski w zapasach🥇) once again at BODY WORKto carry out the neuromuscular assessment to start the next training period in his periodization, led by Paweł Krótki, his head S&C coach.

Marta Falińska, thanks a lot for your support during the assessment 🙇🏻‍♂️

Fotografia Andrzej Olszanowski once again, thanks for you time and the photoshoot 🧙🏻‍♂️

Paweł and Arek I wish you a big success in this next phase. Count on our support to make your team even more successful! 🫡
