INK Projeto 🤝 Away Days Football Travel 🤝 De Feijenoorder

Last year we visited Rio de Janeiro to meet with Fabio, the initiator of the INK Football Street Project. With very limited resources he and his team work very hard to give the kids of the Chapadao Favela a sustainable future with football as the catalyst. The kids receive much more than the possibility to play football. They receive education (English lessons for example) as going to school is for most of the kids not possible. They work on social skills, discipline and reaching goals. They provide food, breakfast for example, to have a nutritious start of the day.
Fabio told me that all of these kids have a dream. To be able to get out of the Favela one day and build a future, become a professional footballer for example. To symbolize this dream, Fabio wished these kids could play in a Feyenoord-jersey for example. Players like Igor Paixao are an example for these kids.
So we contacted the De Feijenoorder, the supporters association of Feyenoord, if they could help with this wish. We organized an initiative with the business club of De Feijenoorder for people to donate a Feyenoord-kit. A great success! We were able to bring a full sports bag of brand new kits to Chapadao to surprise the kids. The happiness of the kids was mind-blowing. Special thanks to my mate The Tim Travelller for donating a lot of Celtic stuff, thee kids loved it.
The hospitality of INK and the love of the kids was more than amazing. We admire these people, but also understand they still have a long way to go. So we will do everything within our power to keep supporting this project and hopefully receive more help from football clubs, supporters associations and companies as these kids need better facilities, materials, educational supplies etc.
