Manhattan Kickers Football Club is a soccer school for committed players, ages 5-12, in the New York

Manhattan Kickers Football Club (MKFC) is a non-profit youth soccer school in New York City serving players ages 4 to 12. We believe foremost in the development of individual skill, and strive to instill a passion and respect for the game in our players along with the right attitude to succeed. We value these characteristics over wins and losses, as they are ultimately what form the foundation for

the highest level of soccer player and citizen. Our curriculum is modeled after professional European and South American Academies who focus intensely on developing the technical ability of young players. It is at these ages where the fundamentals are learned that will enable a player to have future success. MKFC’s special focus on these early ages is unique because in the United States those crucial ages are largely neglected or left to inexperienced parent-coaches or recreational teams. Our club’s focus on exclusively those ages has allowed us to create a specialized program catered to the needs of players at that stage of development. Fundamentally, the coaches in the club are not trying to producing winning teams; we are trying to produce winning players. Instead of the often typical ‘scoreboard mentality’ in youth sports, we take the ‘mastery approach.’ Thus the club is not out to win trophies but to make sure we improve the level of each player in our club and teach the boys how to take pride and enjoyment out of working hard to learn a craft. In our ten year history, our players have reached the highest levels of youth soccer – places in professional European academies, the United States National Program, as well as earning college scholarships and spots on top youth clubs in the area.

AdiCup update: The team of MKFC coaches and former players lost in the semi-finals of the co-ed 3v3 AdiCup at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The event got rained out on Saturday but the teams returned the next morning. Last month, the Kickers team of coaches won the regional tournament of eight NYC teams which qualified them for this national event. On Sunday, the team won two group games but eventually fell to the champions.

Thanks to Adidas for putting on both events and for the USA styled MKFC jerseys. Well done to the team of Admir, Sal, Sambie, Sam, Rafi, and Dillan & Logan.

The AdiCup 3v3 Finals are on Saturday, July 18th at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The MKFC coaches and former players won the 8 team NYC regional competition last month to qualify as one of four teams from across the nation to compete in the 3v3 final.

Some pictures from the Kickers team of coaches and alumni winning the Adidas AdiCup 3v3 co-ed tournament at the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The tournament was the New York qualifier for the national championship in July to win World Cup Finals tickets.

The MKFC team stormed through the group games with big wins against NYCFC and Red Bulls and teams representing NYC brands, and defeated EXTRA BUTTER ® in the finals on a extra time 1v1 goal from former Kicker player and current coach Sal Esposito ('01). The team met former players such as David Beckham and Paul Pogba and celebrated the win with Marcelo.

The team now advances to the AdiCup final at the same field in Brooklyn on July 18th.
