🚫 Mosquitoes? Next to None! Believe it or not, the Rio Negro is a natural insect repellent. Thanks to decomposing organic matter from the forest, the water is acidic (pH 3.8 - 4.9), which stops mosquito larvae from thriving. Unlike other parts of the Amazon, on the banks of the "Negrão," you’ll be focused on racing, not scratching.
🐆 Jaguars: Respect, Don’t Fear. The Jaguar is our symbol of strength, but they avoid humans. Attacks are incredibly rare. The Jaguar Institute confirms that among all big cats, jaguars are the least likely to attack people—they prefer to keep their distance and stick to the deep jungle.
🐍 Anacondas: Forget the Hollywood movies—humans aren't on the menu. Experts confirm that predatory attacks on humans are exceedingly rare and not typical behavior. Anacondas are majestic, but they like to keep a low profile.
The only real "beast" you have to worry about is the 500km course itself. The jungle is calling you for an adventure, not a risk.

🚫 Mosquitos? Quase Zero! Pode parecer mentira, mas o Rio Negro é um repelente natural. Devido à decomposição de matéria orgânica da floresta, suas águas são ácidas (pH entre 3.8 e 4.9). Essa acidez impede a proliferação das larvas de mosquitos. Ou seja, ao contrário de outras áreas da Amazônia, nas margens do "Negrão" você corre focado na prova, e não em se coçar.
🐆 Onças-Pintadas: Respeito, não medo. A onça é o símbolo da nossa força, mas ela evita humanos. Estatísticas mostram que ataques são eventos raríssimos. O Instituto Onça-Pintada confirma que, entre os grandes felinos, elas são as que menos atacam seres humanos, preferindo manter distância e seguir seu caminho na mata.
🐍 Anacondas (Sucuris): Apesar da fama de cinema, as sucuris não têm humanos no cardápio. Relatórios de especialistas confirmam que ataques predatórios a humanos são extremamente raros e não fazem parte do comportamento padrão da espécie. Elas são majestosas, mas discretas.
