As part of World Boxing Cup: China 2026 - Guiyang city, World Boxing President, Gennadiy Golovkin, and Secretary General, Tom Dielen, met with the Chinese Boxing Federation to discuss the opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and support the continued development in boxing both in China and internationally.
The meeting brought together World Boxing President Gennadiy Golovkin, Secretary General Tom Dielen, Chinese Boxing Federation President Chen Liren and Secretary General Han Bo. The discussions took place alongside the World Boxing Cup, which is being hosted at the newly developed Guiyang Olympic Training Centre, one of China’s leading high-performance sports facilities.
The President of World Boxing, Gennadiy Golvkin said: “China continues to play an increasingly important role in the development of Olympic-style boxing. We highly appreciate the commitment of the Chinese Boxing Federation, the excellent organisation of this World Boxing Cup, and the support of the authorities of Guizhou Province and Guiyang in creating outstanding conditions for our athletes and teams. The investment in modern sports infrastructure and the willingness to support international boxing initiatives demonstrate China’s growing contribution to the future of our sport.
