WHEN ZOLDER GOES DARK

There’s something special about racing through the night at Zolder.

The crowds get quieter, the lights come on and fatigue slowly starts to kick in…

But the race doesn’t care. 😅

The cars keep running, the drivers keep pushing and behind the pit wall the crew stays focused — lap after lap, pitstop after pitstop.

While most people are sleeping, a 24-hour race simply keeps going.

And somehow, those night hours always deliver some of the best images. 🤩

This is what 24H racing looks like after dark.

Bart Lievens (JJ Motorsport - BMW 330i CS #56 - 19e algemeen, 3e Club Sport):

"We hebben hard gewerkt, maar een podiumplaats is uiteraard leuk. We stonden vrij ver terug op de startgrid, dus we wisten dat er werk op de plank lag. We hebben vervolgens de race rustig, wat afwachtend, aangevat.

In de beginfase bij de regen zijn we ook lang buiten geleven op slicks, in de hoop dat er een neutralisatie kwam, maar dat gebeurde niet. Net toen we besloten toch te pitten, werd de race geneutraliseerd.

JJ Motorsport is voor mij echter een gekende omgeving, ik ken Jan goed en de rest van de mechaniekers ook, dat helpt zeker. De wagen reed goed, we hebben een kleine aanrijding gehad en de schokdemper vooraan moeten vervangen.

Toen Kurt Van Gijsel werd uitgesloten, hebben we onze rijtijd aangepast om het wegvallen van één piloot op te vangen, dus ik heb iets meer moeten rijden dan gepland."

De 48e uitgave van de 24 Hours of Zolder zit erop. De wedstrijd eindigde voortijdig omwille van een zwaar ongeval met de One Life Projects BMW, maar eens het verlossende nieuws kwam dat de betrokkenen niet in levensgevaar waren, besloot de organisatie om de podiumceremonie op te starten. THREE CARS. ONE TEAM.

Running one car for 24 hours is already a challenge.

Running three of them means there’s basically always something happening. 😅

Pitstops, refuelling, tyre changes, driver changes, technical checks, repairs… sometimes one after another, sometimes all at once.

While the drivers do the laps, there’s an entire crew behind the scenes keeping those three BMWs moving.

That’s the part of a 24H you don’t always see.

STORIES BEHIND THE 24H — #1 🌧️
WHEN THE HEAVENS OPENED

We got our first taste of it during Thursday night practice, when the rain became so heavy that the session was red-flagged and temporarily stopped.

During the race, Zolder had a few more showers waiting for us… 😅

Several sudden downpours meant switching from slicks to rain tyres — sometimes with our three cars needing them almost simultaneously.

Three cars. Three sets of wheels. Two pitbox crews. And not much time to think. 😂

Just another part of the 24H Zolder experience.

24H Zolder 2026. What a week. 🤯🏁

We’ve been pretty quiet on our socials during the 24H…

Simply because we were way too busy living it. 😅

Our 11th 24 Hours of Zolder turned into one of the craziest editions we’ve experienced so far. 24 hours of racing, rain, night, pitstops, highs, lows, teamwork… and more stories than we could ever fit into one post.

But one thing first: a massive THANK YOU to our entire crew, our drivers and everyone who helped us throughout this weekend. ❤️

The commitment, teamwork and fighting spirit we saw during these 24 hours was incredible. No matter what came our way, everyone kept pushing to get our cars back out there and all the way to the chequered flag.

You can all be proud of what we achieved together. 💪

Now that things are finally starting to settle down, it’s time to catch up.

We have a lot of pictures.
We have a lot of stories.
And probably enough material for a book or two. 😂

The chequered flag may have fallen, but we’re not done with the 24H Zolder just yet.

This week, we’ll take you behind the scenes and share some of the stories behind our 24 hours. 👀
