Just under 4 months to go now!

Things are cooking, in training, and on the event side. We've got some exciting things coming up, and very happy to see a wave of new pledgers after the 20km of Brussels.

A big welcome to who are taking the challenge to their run club, pushing each of their runners to go for their fastest 5km ever with us on 4th October.

Try this workout to help you get faster in the 5km.

Start by using your current 5km PB, or your goal finish time.
Reduce it by 10%.
Work out the pace needed in min/km to hit that new time.
That pace is your goal for the intervals.

In week 1, start with 5x1km at that goal pace. Take 60 seconds rest in between.

If you can do it, next week, try 6x1km. Then 7x1km.

This workout by running coach Lee Grantham is designed to get you used to running just above your desired 5km pace. And it keeps the goal posts moving forward as you get faster.

Its a great workout to do as a higher intensity run, and can be repeated weekly or 2-3 times a month.

If you're struggling to hit the 5x1km, then your goal is probably too high right now, scale it back a little bit and see how much you can progress.

With 24 weeks to go until the PB project - how much faster do you think you can get?

With now just under 6 months to go until the PB Project takes place, we wanted to take a look at what could be possible for everyone taking part - using one of our own stories as an example.

Alex started his training plan in November 2025, with the aim to set a new PB in the half ironman triathlon (goal time under 5 hours).

The other day he reached a milestone in training, showing just how much progress had been made in the 4 and a half months since he started with this plan.

The improvement: 50 seconds per km quicker, with just a 2 bpm difference.

How did he get there?
20 weeks since starting the plan.
48 runs.
80/20 approach.

48 runs in 20 weeks comes to an average of 2.4 runs per week. (most of his plan had 3 runs per week - but that period includes some time out due to holiday / sickness etc).

We have 24 weeks until October 4th.

What gains will you make in that time?

Which version of you will show up to the PB Project?

Us now we are past the 6 month mark 😅

How is everyone's training going?

6 months to go

Some of us are in, pledged, committed, working towards being our fastest ever, and this is what we could achieve with 6 months of consistent work:

- 25-30 mins -> 2-4 mins faster
- 30-40 mins -> 3-6 mins faster
- 40-50 mins -> 5-8 mins faster

Not guaranteed, but possible.

If you wait another month or two to commit?

The window gets smaller.
The gains get harder.
The improvement potential drops.

October 4th is coming, we can't stop that.
We can choose what shape we'll be in when it comes.

The PB project is a 5km personal best challenge, taking place in Leuven, Belgium, October 4th 2026.

Last week we posted a specific training session to help you prepare for a PB. But we missed a crucial part - the specifics of the warm-up.

Well, this post should help.

🥵 This is a great workout that you can start now and continue working on for the next months to build that top end speed.

New to this kind of speed work? Start with 4-5 sets of 400m.
Add 1-2 sets of 400m each week, until you are doing 12 sets of 400m.

Aim for an 8/10 effort level for each 400m. If you have a goal pace for the 5km, then the 400m repeats should be a little bit faster than your goal pace (you can work up to that over a few sessions).

When you've done 2-3 sessions of 12x400, ask us for the next workout which is a little more spicy 🌶️

What are strides I hear you say?
Strides are something you do when warming up to open up the legs and get ready for harder effort. Quickly increase your speed to 9/10 and hold for 20-30 seconds, then recover fully before repeating.
