L’équipe Belge Jeunes contrainte de renoncer au Championnat du Monde de tir à l’arc C’est avec une immense déception que nous annonçons la non-participation de l’équipe de Belge Jeunes au Championnat du Monde Jeune de tir à l’arc, prévu à Winnipeg du 19 au 24/08. Initialement prévue via un vol Air Canada, notre délégation a été directement impactée par la grève totale de la compagnie aérienne. Malgré tous les efforts déployés pour trouver un trajet alternatif, long avec 5 étapes dans 5 pays, dans des délais extrêmement contraints, la malchance n'a cessé de s'abattre sur notre équipe. De multiples aléas rencontrés – logement annulé, vol annulé , problème d'embarquement – n’ont pas permis à l’équipe d’arriver dans les temps pour le début des qualifications. Nous avons tout essayé pour trouver des solutions y compris trajet en voiture, bus ou train. Cette situation est particulièrement difficile à vivre pour nos jeunes athlètes, qui s’étaient préparés avec détermination depuis de longs mois pour représenter la Belgique au plus haut niveau. Nous aurions tant voulu être sur place et défendre nos couleurs. Au-delà de la dimension sportive et humaine, cette annulation a également un impact financier important. Les ligues étudient actuellement, avec leur partenaire (World Archery) et les entreprises (compagnies aeriennes, hotels, plateforme d'achats) concernées, les solutions de remboursement et les dispositifs d’assurance envisageables afin de limiter les conséquences. La RBA, la LFBTA et BSV tiennent à saluer leur engagement et leur résilience face à ces circonstances exceptionnelles, totalement indépendantes de leur volonté. Elles remercient également les familles, les clubs et l’encadrement pour leur soutien indéfectible. Elles remercient également l'organisateur de ces championnats et la World Archery pour la prise en compte de cette situation exceptionnelle et d'avoir aménagé le programme pour permettre à un maximum d'équipes d'essayer d'atteindre Winnipeg. Nous resterons mobilisés aux côtés de nos archers afin de les accompagner dans leurs prochains objectifs sportifs et de transformer cette déception en énergie pour l’avenir.
Het Belgische jeugdteam is gedwongen zich terug te trekken uit het Wereldkampioenschap Boogschieten. Met grote teleurstelling melden we de niet-deelname van het Belgische jeugdteam aan het Wereldkampioenschap Boogschieten voor de Jeugd, dat van 19 tot en met 24 augustus in Winnipeg plaatsvindt. Aanvankelijk gepland via een Air Canada-vlucht, werd onze delegatie direct getroffen door de totale staking van de luchtvaartmaatschappij. Ondanks alle inspanningen om een alternatieve route te vinden, met 5 etappes in 5 landen en binnen extreem krappe deadlines, bleef het team pech hebben. Verschillende problemen – geannuleerde accommodatie, geannuleerde vlucht, boardingproblemen – zorgden ervoor dat het team niet op tijd aankwam voor de start van de kwalificaties. Royal Belgian Archery heeft alles geprobeerd om oplossingen te vinden, waaronder reizen per auto, bus of trein. Deze situatie is bijzonder moeilijk voor onze jonge atleten, die zich al maanden met vastberadenheid hebben voorbereid om België op het hoogste niveau te vertegenwoordigen. We hadden er graag bij willen zijn en onze kleuren willen verdedigen. Naast de sportieve en menselijke dimensie heeft deze annulering ook een aanzienlijke financiële impact. De bonden onderzoeken momenteel, samen met hun partner (World Archery) en de betrokken maatschappijen (luchtvaartmaatschappijen, hotels, inkoopplatforms), de mogelijkheden voor vergoeding en mogelijke verzekeringen om de gevolgen te beperken. De RBA, de LFBTA en BSV willen hun inzet en veerkracht in deze uitzonderlijke omstandigheden, die volledig buiten hun macht liggen, eren. Ze danken ook de families, clubs en het management voor hun onwrikbare steun. Ze danken ook de organisator van deze kampioenschappen en World Archery voor het feit dat ze rekening hebben gehouden met deze uitzonderlijke situatie en het programma hebben aangepast om zoveel mogelijk teams de kans te geven Winnipeg te bereiken. We blijven samen met onze boogschutters gemobiliseerd om hen te ondersteunen bij hun volgende sportieve doelen en deze teleurstelling om te zetten in energie voor de toekomst.
Belgian Youth Team Forced to Withdraw from the World Archery Youth Championships
It is with great disappointment that we announce the non-participation of the Belgian Youth Team in the World Archery Youth Championships, scheduled to take place in Winnipeg from August 19 to 24.
Originally booked on an Air Canada flight, our delegation was directly impacted by the airline’s total strike. Despite every effort made to find an alternative route—an extremely long journey involving five stops in five different countries—misfortune continued to strike our team. Multiple setbacks, including cancelled accommodation, cancelled flights, and boarding issues, prevented the team from arriving on time for the start of the qualification rounds. We explored every possible solution, including travel by car, bus, or train, but none proved feasible within the given timeframe.
This situation is particularly difficult for our young athletes, who had prepared with determination for many months to proudly represent Belgium at the highest level. We truly wished we could be there to defend our colors.
Beyond the sporting and human dimension, this withdrawal also carries significant financial consequences. The leagues are currently working with their partners (World Archery) and the companies involved (airlines, hotels, booking platforms) to explore reimbursement solutions and insurance arrangements in order to mitigate the impact.
The RBA, the LFBTA, and BSV wish to commend the athletes for their commitment and resilience in the face of these exceptional circumstances, entirely beyond their control. They also wish to thank the families, clubs, and staff for their unwavering support, as well as the organizers of the championships and World Archery for recognizing this exceptional situation and adapting the schedule to allow as many teams as possible to attempt to reach Winnipeg.
We remain committed to standing by our archers, supporting them in their future sporting goals, and turning this disappointment into motivation for the challenges ahead.
