At an after-party in September 2013, the idea of creating a men's derby team came up as a bit of a joke. A few weeks later, our joke became a reality, and the Manneken Beasts saw the light of day in early October.

Ten years later, we can see that this joke is actually quite an adventure and an important part of our lives. Starting our first international tournament with the Beardi, where we were pushed so hard we weren't sure we were playing the same sport, we went on to take on challenges such as the MEC, MRDA Playoffs, and even two incredible tournaments in the USA : Mohawk Valley and Brewhaha.

It's thanks to all of you - the public, organizers, referees, photographers, announcers, and players - that we have so many incredible memories.

Unfortunately for many of us, the covid period drained our motivation, threw us into other sport or life projects and even welcomed a few cubs into the nest.

Which brings us today to announce the departures and end of careers of several of us. We wanted to do this message to mark the occasion and thank everyone who has been involved and played in the team over the last 10 years.

The following players have decided to call time on their derby careers :

Some of us will also continue roller derby but in other teams and will make their transfer:

Ten years is a long time, and like any story, time is come, it's more than the end of a chapter, it's the end of a story. But let's not close the book entirely, and leave open the possibility of a sequel one day.
