The final competition of the flyball season brought plenty of excitement. The Jolly Jumpers were just one point behind Roadrunners Beep Beep in the Supercup ranking. What did we need to do? Run the 6 best average times — that would get us the same amount of points. With our season time of 14.27 seconds, we would win the Supercup. But what if the Roadrunners managed to secure an extra point by improving their seeding time? Better safe than sorry — we had to improve our seeding time as well. So the goal was also to run under 14.45 seconds.
The Jolly Jumpers knew what had to be done and ran 14.36 in the very first run of the day. That was already in the bag. The other five times took a little longer to come, but yes — even in the final we ran 14.56, and we knew it: that 1st place in the Supercup is ours!🏆
Besides that first place for the Jolly Jumpers, the Lucky Jumpers also managed to secure a spot in the top 5!
Who would have thought? That the Jolly Jumpers could still claim that first place… Especially after having to run two competitions as a mixed team due to an unclear transfer rule, which meant we couldn’t earn any points in those two competitions. Apparently, the fear of other teams was justified, because without realizing it, we were getting closer and closer to victory. We definitely had to work for it and fight until the very last competition. After 7 years, we can once again call the Jolly Jumpers Supercup winners!
Next season is sure to bring some very exciting races — that much is certain. We’re already looking forward to the very last competition of this year: the Belgian Winner, where not only the Jolly Jumpers were selected to compete for the Belgian title, but also the Lucky Jumpers and the Bee Jumpers!
We wish all other selected teams the best of luck and lots of fun!
